You wouldn't believe how many here and elsewhere seem to think that RE4 should be the minimum standard for every Wii game, no matter the art direction or scale.

The combat does suck in SH1 and it is certainly more intimidating when you can't control the threats in the game. If i remember correctly the nurses were genuinly scary as hell but you don't attack them at all, right?
Less crappy dogs and flying demon birds, more nothing except atmospheric sound plus the minute control over ur own vision. This game is gonna be SCARY
RE4/5 is a total loss to the real survival horror genre.

This one looks to seriously give the creeps!! Resident evil 4 was amazing but not really scary. I remember the old resident evil beeing so scary, especially because of the lack of bullet (which could be fustratring as well). I'm really looking forward to that one. I just hope people won't come here to complain about it like a scandalous port...

I've read the whole thing now and I'm absolutely impressed by everything I read. Not only is this the real deal, but it's even more than that. If the game makes true on what they promise this could well be THE survivor horror game of this generation.
- Real surviving: No guns or battle system. Very realistic.
- Game changes based on choices (a bit of WRPG in there)
- Wiimote flashlight + speaker
- Big focus on psychology
- Puzzles!
This could be Silent Hill's REmake.
