Hitler triggered World War 2 with the invasion of Poland back in September 1939.
More than 50 million people were killed during World War 2. 20 million of them were Russians
Hitler's Nazis killed 6 million out of 13 million Jewish people through the Final Solution between 1941 to 1945. Known as the Jewish Holacaust.

Adolf Hitler was the anti-christ.

It can be argued that France, the US, and Britain caused WWII by putting an industrious and proud people into national devastation for 20 years.

There's a lot more to it than "Hitler was a bad, bad man". He rose to power for a reason and gave a desperate people a scapegoat for their problems (the historical whipping boys of the world, the Jews). He then turned that desperation into a ploy for revenge and expansion.

His actions were unjustifiable but they are understandable.

When it comes to "batshit crazy scary people in power", I don't see how it can be argued that Stalin was tops in that department. At least in modern recorded history where the ability to destroy thousands of lives within hours became not only possible, but easy to achieve.

If only Hitler was accepted into art school. Hitler blamed the Jews for not getting into art school and became an evil, bitter, twisted, monster of a man. His paranoid delusional, psychobable, "Mein Kempf", is one of the worst pieces of literature ever written. The garbage inside Mein Kempf formed the foundations of the Hitler/Nazi ideology. The Nazis are regarded as the most evil regime the world has ever witnessed.

Hitler as a painter, produced some decent pieces of artwork. We only wished he had of been accepted into art school and World War 2 would of never occurred. 50 million - men, women and children would of never been killed during world war 2.

The world has seen over 100's of films, books and stories, video games created based on the Hitler/Nazi - World War 2 theme.

There is always that What IF factor. WWII might have still happened, just under different terms.

How is it there were holocaust survivors? Not a very effecient final solution if you leave witnesses around.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Well someone knows his history. And I believe Hitler lost his mind somewhere along the way.

Still his hatred of "Jews" is also contributed to his mother, if i remember right, because she was of Jewish faith. I think she beat him as a child because he refused the religion. So his hate for it spiraled out of control and turned into the Holocaust.

Ya, A-bomb + A-bomb = a level of genocide that topped Hitler.

I wont address any defenses you made about hitler, because honestly you didn't give me anything worth responding to. I don't feel like wasting my time.  And no the A-bomb saved many, many, many more lives than it took.  I will not respond back.  Good day, sir.

As far as I can remember, the Nazi party wasn't founded on antisemitism. That was slowly worked into their platform, and with the support of the German people. It was the National Socialist party, an alternative to the failed capatalism of before, and communism, that led to the rise of the Nazis, along with even more factors. Antisemitism in Germany can also be blamed partially because I believe 2 or so of the few Germans that surrendered at Versailles were Jewish. They were the scapegoats, that is all. They at first tried to assimilate them, then transport them to other places, and then finally elimination. Even then they were preferred over non-German jews, and were in work camps more than exterminated. The Western Jews in general were treated much more humane, if you can call it that, than Jews from the west, where they were just shipped to extermination camps because the sheer number of them couldn't have been handled in concentration camps. But in general, Anti-Semitism wasn't an unknown thing in Europe, at least midly. Only Denmark tried to actively save their Jews after occupation, most Western nations shipped non-native Jews, and tried to move their own to other safer places.

Uh, no. I don't want to seem like an ass but all of your posts are pretty inaccurate in this thread. His mother was Catholic. His hate towards Jews is complicated and there is no one clear reason, as hate towards a nationality is never just one reason, but instilled over your life.

And if you say that Nagasaki and Hiroshima, which killed about 250,000, with more in radiation poisoning and what not, is not close to even the millions of Jews exterminated during the Holocaust. To even compare the two is unreasonable. Dropping the Atom bombs could be argued as horrific, but just one firebombing of a city during WWII, I forget the city and the instance, had the same casualties. I believe it was a German city at the end of WWII by the allies. But to compare the two, really? There are arguments that can justify Hiroshima and Nagasaki, such as preventing USSR involvement in Japan and Manchuria, to prevent a ground war against Japan's homeland and further firebombing of their cities until they surrendered. There is no justification for the mass amount of extermination of Jews. Please just don't even try.

idk, im basing my info off like 5 different documentaries I watched like 12 years ago >.> so my info is probably a mixture of the 5 blended in with what I think I remember and vaguely remember. None of my high school's Histories classes ever got to WWII.. even the American History Honors class... I know in one of the docs one of the reasons was because his mother or father was of Jewish faith.

And trust me, I;m not trying to justify Hitler's actions, he was freaking evil, just not the most evil man ever to walk the Earth.

I really dont consider Adolf really that evil... his goal was for the greater good of German. Which really he was somewhat successful at doing. Yes the way he did that was cruel but there has been cruelty beyond his level in the past.

Uhh... just for the record, I wouldn't consider Hitler "somewhat successful" at achieving the greater good of Germany.

He drained Germany's resources, destroyed its freedoms, devastated its population, brainwashed and slaughtered its youth, got the country divided into two for over forty years, part of which wound up behind the Iron Curtain, and soiled its reputation beyond measure.

I mean, really--you put an insane, megalomanical, bloodthirsty tyrant in charge... it probably won't end well for anyone.

that was because the USSR were complete a-holes. But the USSR/Russia has a history of doing that sort of thing. Ever war they try to collect what they won while allied with us. If the wars didnt benefit them in someway they would have allied with us for them.

Between Hitler and Bin Laden, it's Hitler.

Throw in Stalin and it's Stalin.

Throw in every other evil bastard, and Bin Laden's out of the top 30. Stalin would be in the top 5 and Hitler would be in the top 10. I'd need forever to get more specific.
