i'm torn.

i was going to get tov for the 360 since it was reported discontinued, but now i'm wondering if i should hold off on it.

other than cod, i don't use the 360 for much. i should have gotten the arcade model.

an official report should come out in the next couple of weeks. i'll decide then.

u may wanna pick it up ,  not sure if this is coming to the west , hell we are not sure if it's coming to japan either.

Yeah, Symphonia for PS2 was never released in the West, despite it being the marketleader by far. Chances are that Vesperia PS3 will never leave Japan.

Vesperia 360 isn't even released in Europe yet, so localization isn't really a priority for Namco.

From gaf:

Namco originally had no intentions of bringing Tales of Symphonia to the US. However, Nintendo later asked for Namco to bring Symphonia to the US and offered to publish the localized version. Nintendo funded the translations, voice acting, and also helped promote the game by giving it a front cover on Nintendo Power. The game went on to sell fairly well in the US. Seeing as it was published by Nintendo outside of Japan, it is highly unlikely that the PlayStation 2 version will ever be released outside of Japan.

---It's funny that the "non-PS3-owners", let's leave it at that, react in every forum the same.

Plus, Namco brought Eternal Sonata out of Japan.

Namco already localized the game once, and they still have access to all the voice overs, etc.  It would be waste not to localize this one.  They'd have to add just a few lines for the new girl.

Looking at Symphonia, even IF they wanted to bring the ps3 version outside of Japan (when they really didn't want to bring either version outside of Japan), they would've had to relocalize the game themselves, as everything done for the GC version would've been in the hands of Nintendo.

My reasons for buying an xbox just keep disappearing....

now plz announce Ace Combat for the PS3

NEVER NEVER! I don't think they will, it has been a long while since Ace Combat 6 has been released better luck with Ace Combat 7!

In case you didn't heard it yet:

It was a tad controversial when Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation was announced as an Xbox 360 exclusive. After all, Namco Bandai's Ace Combat series had cut its teeth on Sony's consoles for years. Now, however, the title might return to familiar territory, as UK-based PSM3 Magazine is reporting on the development of Ace Combat 6 on PS3.

According to a brief blurb in the magazine, Ace Combat 6 is scheduled for release later this year, and will feature online co-op. The blurb also mentions that the title will include its own custom controller (clearly referring to the Ace-Edge flight sticks that were released alongside the 360 version).

With no official word from Namco Bandai on the topic, we're hesitant to believe this one just yet, although breaking exclusivity agreements is certainly not unheard of in this industry.

Exactly, that's the reason PS2 didn't get this game in the US (it would've been amazing since this version was enhanced), and since Tales of Vesperia is not published by MS here, there's no restriction...

So Year of The PS3 JRPGs confirmed?

All I know is that MS is going to be coming HARD at E3 or they can hang in the towel for Sales and Quality this year

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

You guys really have faith in Namco USA... poor souls! When it comes to Namco USA... you are better to be surprised that the game comes over than be disappointed by them... trust me.

BTW if agreement was to not expose details of port before end of financial year 2008 then would publishing it on first day of 2009 fiscal year be a slap on MS face from japanise publisher :D

If that's the case then they feel the same slap we got from the very same Namco Bandai 2 years ago. Then again MS wouldn't care as it was the agreement, right?

I wouldn't really say this because PSP, and DS always trump all consoles in terms of RPG. I even think Wii has a better lineup this year in terms of jrpgs.

Better not shout it out loud before we'll get the same bomb throwing at us, like last year.

I think you should consider yourself lucky becouse Namco US exists at all :)

In EU however we have 100% certainity Namco will not release their game and can only be pleasantly suprised when someone else does :D
