Forums - General - Is the iPhone worth $400?

I doubt I'd use an iPhone even if someone gave it to me...well I guess if someone also paid for my service fee's I'd use it =).

yea i bought a camera with a MP3 player built in for $150, and got a cell phone for free with contract. I really don't need both in 1.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I use my iPhone and internet/maps daily. I can use it as a yellow pages, and then make a call without dialing the number. As well, I can look anything up that I need at any time. I used to hate my Motorola Razor, now I have a phone I actually use.

I don't know, at $399 it's cheaper than a PS3 and about the same price as a 360 (not to mention cheaper than many other new phones). I am certainly considering it now, much more so than when it was $499/$599. It will depend on how much money I will have left over this year. If not this iPhone, I will have a good hard look on the iPhone nano whenever it's out.

fazz,
You will get a monthly bill no matter what phone you use. You will also have to pay for every single game you want to play on your game console. I don't think this is a special issue with the iPhone.

El_Duderino,
Looking just at the form factor (not the games, which are the biggest pro for the PSP), there are worlds between the iPhone and the PSP. The iPhone is 3 times smaller and 2 times lighter than the PSP.

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

$200 max is what I would pay of any phone.

I would, heck yeah!

No thanks, if I was given an iPhone for free I would give it to someone else, I don't want to carry around a gigantic palm sized computer just to make phone calls.

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

The iPhone is a slick piece of technology. I got to use my friend's while vacationing in Pittsburgh and loved it when it worked well. I also hated it when the EDGE network slowed to a crawl or was unavailable. So if you're willing to pay not only $400 for a new phone but also at least $1,440 over the next two years to AT&T and Apple for the service (Apple gets a kick back each month), the price drop is good news. For me, I'll wait for a faster network and hopefully a few more options (like GPS) in a new model that's bound to come out next year.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

I'm not saying is an issue, but to what I know (not much), the Iphone's monthly bill is a bit higher than with other phones. How is Cing... AT&T contract anyway? They still have that unlimited data usage plan*?

(*Unlimited means that if you use too much we will cancel your contract)

I wouldn't buy it because it has a 2 megapix cam and doesn't has HSDPA...  among other things.

Nokia sucks it has always sucked.

The iphone is apple, I dont think its really worth it.
