The iPhone is a slick piece of technology. I got to use my friend's while vacationing in Pittsburgh and loved it when it worked well. I also hated it when the EDGE network slowed to a crawl or was unavailable. So if you're willing to pay not only $400 for a new phone but also at least $1,440 over the next two years to AT&T and Apple for the service (Apple gets a kick back each month), the price drop is good news. For me, I'll wait for a faster network and hopefully a few more options (like GPS) in a new model that's bound to come out next year.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.
