just lower than expected i thought

EDIT: never mind, just not thinking straight at the moment, it is actually quite good

quite good? I'm quite dissapointed myself. Those guys on gaf were digging up biggest first weeks since the n64 era and nothing had gotten beyond just over 300k. In that sense it's not that bad, but you still expect more out of a game like this.

honestly though, the Japanese market has been strange lately.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I've had a bad feeling about this since about 2 weeks ago. I no longer consider Japan as a game country. They rather buy Square Enix stuff or party / casual crap, that's for sure now. Reports say there were about 700.000 pre orders from "gamers" so 130.000 is pretty lousy. I think hardware sales won't go up that much, as I've said before, I don't even think the WII will be the best selling console in about 2 or 3 weeks. Don't be surprised PS3 is passing by. Maybe too sceptic, but ever since the WII sales were dropping really fast, I've become sceptic and wonder what in earth happened in Japan to punish Nintendo like this, all of the sudden.

Onna, just WHAT? Not only the Wii was dropping, every hardware was. The PS3 has a long way to go, to beat the Wii. The Wii outsold it 3:1 last chart week. And if I don't have the release date wrong in my head, even the 40 gig only helped the PS3 to be outsold 1.5:1 last chart week. Sorry, but expect mind blowing numbers in the next Japanese charts.

Well i'm with Onna on this one. Japan has gone nuts. If this game sell less than Sunshine x 3 then something is VERY wrong.

Well ,exceeding 130K for first day is really a great number .Its something more than Mario Party and better that Hot Shots Golf 5 ....it will no doubt surpass Dragon Quest Swords and Gundam Mussou LTD numbers before the end of the year so best sold game on home consoles for sure .This would point to some 250K for first week ,maybe being a mario and all 300-350K .A great debut ,for still meh for the kind of megabomb some were expecting and way below the sales of games on the portable systems ...

@Just Ben PS3 has NEVER done great, the WII has, has sold for MONTHS over 60.000 per week without any major releases, and look where it is right now? Having trouble to sell 30.000 a week and the PS3 is marching in with 20.000 a week and rising. The 40GB won't release until next week and has Dynasty Warriors 5 in the package, which will push up sales as the game is quite popular in Japan.

I expect mind blowing sales in the US en the EU, but not in Japan.
