The PS2 should sell quite well for a couple months, but will the price cut be so much of an impact that it'll actually take away some Wii sales?

No, Wii will still sell strong since the Wii has a library as good as the ps2.
Really its a defensive strategy, no PS3 price cut means ultimately a much greater threat from both 360 and Wii.
