Wii Kills Man

A man has died after a Wii Fit session went terribly awry; during his jogging session on the game, he collapsed and promptly died.

The man, identified as Tim Eves (25), of Norfolk in the UK, was apparently of sound body, enjoying such activities as cycling and fishing, and led a troupe of boy scouts. He worked as a labourer.

It seems he was playing the game, involving pretending to jog on the spot, when he suddenly keeled over. His friend and girlfriend immediately attempted to revive him and summoned medical assistance, but to no avail – he was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital.

An autopsy is scheduled, but in the mean time so speculate he may have fallen victim to that most dread of killers, “Sudden Adult Death Syndrome”, that is to say he dropped dead for no good reason.

He spoke to his mother shortly before expiring, which revealed something of his healthy lifestyle:

“We spoke to him on the phone when he was playing on the Wii machine. He told us he had just ordered himself a kebab and was sitting there with a glass of port.

But a little while after he had put the phone down, he collapsed for no reason. It was completely out of the blue.

They still can’t come up with an answer why it happened, which is one of the reasons it is so hard to come to terms with – there was no reason for it.

It is just unbelievable.”

Considering the levels of obesity and intemperance common in the UK, it would be interesting to hear details of the unfortunate man’s weight and build…

wii is a silent killer
*throws his wii out of the window*

Oh damn O_O that's just unbeliveable. Who knew such an innocent console could take a life

With apologies to Brandon Veda: I told you it was hardcore.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Most cases like this involve a heart condition that has gone undetected.  Sad for him and his family.
