Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

There are 2200 reasons that Tim could be wrong. I'm Not going to Name any, though. |
Personally, its legs are being hurt by the slower PS3 sales and its sales are still dropping. I can't see how its going to make 3M sales... Once the Japan boost is through sales will be lower than before said boost.
Tease.

PS3 is being mean, going around and hitting games on the legs! His father, PS2, needs to discipline him.
Anyway, the game's Others and NA sales seem fairly constant, at around 25-30k combined. That won't last forever, but should continue for a while. It'll become insignificant before not too long in Japan, but should stay in the four digits for at least ten weeks over there.
Even if weekly sales were to drop to 10k, it would be at 3 million in 3 years. Not counting Greatest Hits/Platinum boosts, holiday season boosts, or the fact that it's not going to go down to 10k per week anytime soon.
Look at CoD4.

His father has a drinking problem, he doesn't take retirement very well.
Aside from the Japan boost its legs are doing far worse than Call of Duty 4 and Uncharted 1. Its sales for the last week were only 27k outside of Japan, 10 weeks away it will be less of course.
Tease.

Maybe it's the drinking problem driving PS2 to violence that makes PS3 take it out on poor little games. PS3 earns more than PS2 now, but he'll never be as rich.
Anyway, those two games both released right in the midst of a holiday season, as opposed to in late February. Thus, the first few weeks of data you see are not "legs", they are a holiday season boost. Killzone 2 will get one, as well. Perhaps not one as large, as some interest will be dying, but it will get a boost of some sort.
Killzone 2 is actually pretty much equal with what Uncharted was in Weekly sales right now. Compare LTD after 9 weeks, and Uncharted was a little short of 900k, while KZ2 is at 1.5 million. CoD4 was at 1.93 million, but he's a hard worker, and his parents are very talented indeed. And rich.
So, Uncharted and CoD4 have both been out for about a year and a half. Assuming it stays roughly halfway between them:
Killzone 2 should be at (roughly) 3.3 million in the same timeframe, perhaps a little less. After two years are up, it could be at 3.5 million, and has a shot at 4 million. Perhaps a few hundred thousand short of those, but I still say in the three years of KZ2's relevant sales remaining, its hitting 3 million is pretty much a certainty.

Ok so it post-poned my argument to week 2 instead of day 2... it is still an immense result, my point remained valid !

I think the PS3 is having trouble at college, it can't keep up with the Xbox 360 and Wiis test scores. Even though it technically has the smarter brains and thats why he lashes out.
The difference I was interested in was how Uncharted didn't fall to 27k per week sales until the 19th week, Killzone 2 made it to that level in about 9 weeks. Killzone 2 has had a better start, but so far the legs ARE weaker, He aint no Forest Gump here. We will see in the next couple of weeks how it goes, but this is more fingers crossed rather than calm assurance when you're talking 3M sales.
Tease.

I think it's a mixture of the two, and the fact that his friends are always making fun of him, especially Xbox 360's grandpa, Microsoft. Wii doesn't really care, he's off being successful. He has no time for friends.
Going back to your graph, on Week 9:
Killzone 2 is at 68k.
Uncharted was on 65k.
This is for obvious reasons: the Japan boost. But Japan won't have 0 sales from now on, it will continue to give some kind of boost, even if only a few thousand. Then NA+EU+JP combined would be 30k.
Now, for a different comparison. Killzone 2 on May 1st 2009, and Uncharted 2 on the matching date in 2008.
Killzone 2 (West only): 27,691
Uncharted (West only) 2nd May 2008: 23,358
Sales are generally stronger in Q1 than in Q2.
Of course, Killzone 2 still has a 550k lead from the first week, so even with weaker legs than Uncharted, it can reach similar sales in a similar timeframe. Hence, 3 million sales by the end of this gen.
