Forums - General - The Opera Browser blows.

So I was reading a web page about "Firefox Myths" and I came to the conclusion that Fx is a piece of shit. I decided to try out the Opera browser because it beat out in practically every category.

So I go to Opera.com, download it, install it, and I open it up. Try accessing the websites I frequent from VGC to 1UP to Go Nintendo. Nothing works. What. The. Fuck.

Download the shittiest browser ever here: http://www.opera.com/

I don't have problems with Firefox, except when it randomly decides to stop working. When that happens, I've been switching to Chrome lately (since my parents don't know about it yet; every other browser I've downloaded has been deleted by them since they're afraid they'll give the computer viruses...).

^Chrome is pretty decent, I should re-download that.

I haven't tried Chrome or Opera. Once I made the switch from Firefox to IE about 5 years ago I have never been disappointed.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I've benn using Opera for years and have never had any problems, as opposed to firefox which kept crashing every 5 minutes and loaded pages extremely slowly and often incorrectly. Even IE is better than Firefox, at least from my experience.

Chrome is way, WAY faster than FF in just about every way and it doesn't anywhere close to as much RAM. However, it has more than an acceptable amount of rendering problems and virtually no add-on support to speak of. Until that happens, FF FTW!!!

And I agree that Opera sucks. Well, compared to FF/Chrome it does. If you're used to Safari or (especially) IE, it will seem like a dream though.

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Chrome is amazing

Wait, so you couldn't get Opera to work (which is amazing in itself), so the browser blows?

I started it up, typed in a website and it didn't load.
