Forums - Nintendo - Which WiiWare and Virtual Console Games should I get next?

As most people have heard and probably utilized by now the Wii can now launch WiiWare/VC games from an SD card.

I of course after hearing this immediately move all of my WW/VC games to my SD card and redownloaded all those I had been forced to delete to free up space over the course of the last year and a half (I filled up quick: less than 6 months :)

What I am looking for is suggestions of good games on both WiiWare and the Virtual Console (including Arcade) that I should download. I went out and got two Wii Points cards and had 600 points still in the bank so I'm up to 4600 points and it is burning a hole in my pocket so to speak, but on the other hand I don't want to blow it either.

I have a pretty good selection of WiiWare and Virtual Console games already:

WiiWare
Art Style: Orbient
Art Style: Cubello
Art Style: Rotohex
Defend Your Castle
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King
Mega Man 9
Midnight Pool
Space Invaders: Get Even
World of Goo

Virtual Console

NES:
Mega Man
Metroid
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels
The Legend of Zelda
Wario's Woods

SNES:
ActRaiser
Donkey Kong Country
Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Nintendo64:
Mario Kart 64
Pokemon Snap
Star Fox 64
Super Mario 64
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Genesis:
Shining Force
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2

TurboGrafx16:
Military Madness
Super Star Soilder

but I'm looking to get a few more WiiWare games and would love to know if there are any gems on the old systems I am missing.

Thanks,

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

you could get Lost Winds I don't really think it's worth it but, everyone else thinks so.
for VC get a Contra game ;)

I'm surprised you don't have Secret of Mana. It's a pretty solid action RPG.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

I LOVE spending other people money!

You seem to like SRPGs: get Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen IMMEDIATELY. Tons of content, very deep, unique, and overall fantastic. I can't recommend this game enough.

A good ARPG is Ys I+II. Also worth it, although less so than Ogre Battle. Ditto for Secret of Mana, although that one has the added advantage of allowing three players.

On the WiiWare front, look in bit.trip.beat and see if it's for you.

And I'm surprised YOU don't have Rune Factory. What's your excuse, mister?!

I thought Vectorman was awesome when I played it on the Genesis, but I haven't played it in over a decade so you might want to confirm that before buying.

yeah, that's what i meant. I wasn't late at all...

@noname

I do have Rune Factory, on DS. Did you mean the Wii version? Because from what I can tell, the Wii version is a remake of the first DS one.

As for WiiWare, if you don't mind point-and-click adventure games (which tend to focus on puzzles for gameplay), the Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People series is pretty good. Especially worth it if you're a fan of the Flash toon site they were based off of.

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

Golden Axe 2 (Genesis) is a pretty bad ass beat them up. It is fun to play with a friend also. Contra 3 (SNES) is pretty tight also. If you like flying shooters Lords of Thunder (TG-16) is pretty tight.
