Aww, you don't strike me as a missionary of the Wii Legs Fairy Church...
Anyway, I suppose that being willing to take the bet qualifies you as faithful enough :)
So, what is the usual procedure? Must we add the terms to our signature? I'm a newbie...

I've never done a bet on VGC before either, but yeah, I guess. Let's put it in our sigs.

If Mad World had Mario in it I would of bought it.

Considering it's a Wii game,I don't think it will flop.It should break even at around...what?...300k? That would be my guess.

But sales haven't been stellar. The game had a big drop in NA too. Leg's will be the deciding factor.

it works both ways i think this would have been much smarter to release this game on the PS360. Sure it probably would not have been a huge game but atleast it could have broken 500K sales. Heck if M$ advertised it it might have even hit 1M. But thats just me speculating

But 500k on the HD consoles won't make Sega any profit, whereas on the Wii it means quite a healthy profit.

Do you really think this game would have cost more to make for an HD console?  Considering the art style of this game I don't see why it would have cost more to bring it to HD consoles.  If anything the $10 price premium of an HD version would have more than compensated for any additional costs.  In my opinion Sega really blew it with this game.

It's not fun when its a game on your console is it?

Its a lot more fun when its Haze, Lair, or Too Human. Basically as long as its not on Wii it's okay with you.

you are also gamers that play that kind of games, why didn't you bought it?

You can't even enjoy a good game because it isn't on your console of choice......I pity thee.

If MadWorld "bombs" as you all "lamecore fanboys" pray it will not be a hit for the Wii, Be careful what are you wishing for because this particular "failure" it will be like a double edge sword for all core gamers.

First the reason I didn't "bought" it is because I don't own a Wii. If I owned a Wii I would at the very least rent it.

If I really wanted to play it I would buy a Wii and get it. I just made $500 this winter shoveling snow so I have the money.

I don't care if "bombs" or not man. Actually its the opposite, I hope it does well so "hardcore" gamers on wii have something to play. For all the "hardcore" gamers that are stuck playing casual games, I feel bad for them. I actually am glad to see "hardcore" games going on the wii finally. This and Conduit are a good start.

Now I don't see why a comparison to NMH is such a bad thing for Madworld.

Afterall Suda has claimed that NMH was an extremely successful game for him, I think its his biggest selling ever.

Yea NMH was Suda's best received game commercially.

The game had no ad Campaign though, however Suda for better or worse won't be hand's on with NMH2, that has confused me a little.

However, the argument about HD costing more is an old and tired one, the whole point of SD Wii is that it doesn't ramp up the same cost as HD and less time to develop.

Plus Bayonetta is coming out on the HD consoles any, granted I've read that it looks like crap, I wonder how crappy Mad World would look in HD.

Again if it was Mario World I woul... never mind.

Why is it that every time a quality game comes to the Wii, and sells <500,000 we get the Wii Defense Force giving us a course in apologetics on why it's really not a big deal? Its like the Wii is some sort of godsend console that we are not allowed to say 'hey, this game bombed' - in fact, I'd really like to hear it from a Wii fan: What Wii games have bombed? I don't think I've seen a Wii owner fess up to it before.

Maybe it's because I like to look at larger numbers, but I was inundated with Madworld ads where I live. I may have seen 2 dozen on major man-centric channels. Even then, I thought the ads were done quite well.

Not only this, MadWorld has a very good score - both for the Wii, and in the overall Wii library, as it sits as the 19th best Wii game all-time, and 2nd best for 2009. So there should be some precedent that says 'this game should do well'

Now, having said that, it's too early to make a judgment on where it'll go. It may have great legs, it may not. I am not basing the aforementioned argument on MadWorlds current performance. If it does end up selling <500,000 in a year, I will consider it a bomb, as it had a good marketing campaign behind it, and looks to be one of the games that cost a bit more than typical Wii games, thus offsetting the 'It's on Wii! It magically costs $5 to make!' argument.

glad to know i'm not the only one who thinks this way

Cause we all know that a week of data is enough time to call a game a flop, brilliance I say.
