Tell PS3 owners to stop talking about Killzone.

Tell PS3 owners to stop talking about Killzone.
Go away with your making sense and being reasonble.
That kind of behavior is frowned upon here, sir.

They did stop talking about Killzone. It's why they're talking about MadWorld now.

Damage control. This game is heaps better than that crap Carnival Games, yet it only did 70k first week.... And why is it a thread like this always pops up whenever a 3rd party game that SHOULD be good, essentially flops? If it happens enough times, what you're trying to argue against must be true to some extent. I mean, look at Zack and Wiki: "Oh, you can't calim victory. It's JUST a point and click adventure game" NMH: "You can't claim victory. It's SUCH a niche game" House of the Dead: "You can't claim victory. It's JUST a rail shooter" and now MadWorld......
|
Z&W: Yeah, it was a flop. Too bad.
NMH: Are you serious? The developer himself is overjoyed with the sales. Trying to call this a flop is a lost cause.
HotD: Nobody is saying this is JUST a rail shooter. They're saying this isn't a flop because it's going to sell a million. Which it probably will.
Come on, man, this is NOT damage control. This game was never meant to sell bucketloads. Anyone who thinks it was is, sorry to say, an idiot.

Uhh, last time I checked pretty much everyone thought Haze, Lair and Too Human were bad games. With MadWorld, almost everyone who's played it thinks it's a good game. This comparison isn't very sensible at all.
I'm so glad this game didnt sell just like I hated Sin City.
I'm all for extreme violence in video games though. Although Madworld ain't that violent, rite?

That's not "just like" the other thing at all

Wots the difference? The humor in Sin City was terrible.

Sin City was supposed to have humor in it? I enjoyed the movie, but I must have completely missed all of that.
On the other hand, I find Madworld pretty funny and entertaining. Some of the lines that the commentaters make are hilarious.

| mrstickball said: Why is it that every time a quality game comes to the Wii, and sells <500,000 we get the Wii Defense Force giving us a course in apologetics on why it's really not a big deal? Its like the Wii is some sort of godsend console that we are not allowed to say 'hey, this game bombed' - in fact, I'd really like to hear it from a Wii fan: What Wii games have bombed? I don't think I've seen a Wii owner fess up to it before. Maybe it's because I like to look at larger numbers, but I was inundated with Madworld ads where I live. I may have seen 2 dozen on major man-centric channels. Even then, I thought the ads were done quite well. Not only this, MadWorld has a very good score - both for the Wii, and in the overall Wii library, as it sits as the 19th best Wii game all-time, and 2nd best for 2009. So there should be some precedent that says 'this game should do well' Now, having said that, it's too early to make a judgment on where it'll go. It may have great legs, it may not. I am not basing the aforementioned argument on MadWorlds current performance. If it does end up selling <500,000 in a year, I will consider it a bomb, as it had a good marketing campaign behind it, and looks to be one of the games that cost a bit more than typical Wii games, thus offsetting the 'It's on Wii! It magically costs $5 to make!' argument. |
I don't know any Wii fan that wouldn't say something like Zack and Wiki bombed, and being some peoples favorite game on the Wii, they'll say it.
The issue a lot of people have with saying something like MadWorld bombed only a few weeks after it came out is the fact that so many Wii games aren't front loaded.
Put it like this games on 360 are the one minute men that explode and then rolls over and wants a cheese sandwich before going to bed.
Wii on the other hand, treats a lady to dinner, has some flirting, and then goes for the long haul nice a slow.
