They just have standards that aren't based on any sort of brand loyalty because there is no specific brand to be loyal to. |
I see you have Ace Combat in your collection. That is like a "Baby's first flight combat game".

What you mean it's not selling as well in the same time frame as two games released during the X-mas holiday?! For shame on you Killzone! For shame!

Sorry, too many years of playing PC RTS games to lower my standards that much. |
lol pc gamers have so many buttons to press simplicity confuses them.

Games for windows is a brand!

A brand that has existed since... 2007? A rather new brand anyway, not significant. Besides, most PC gamers I've seen don't care for it at all. Oh, and all PC games don't even use that brand. I also guess people wouldn't care about the brand even if it was Linux games were played on - the games would simple be PC games instead of 'Games for Windows' games. In case you missed my point, it was that GfW isn't significant enough.

I'd rather say console gamers can't recognize quality. How many RTS games have you played before Halo Wars, for example?

Yes, but it does work well on a console |
Should we call a game running on a cell phone great just because it's better than the ones released in its genre before? I don't think so. It's no different for other platforms either. If it lacks strategy and depth, it lacks them. There's nothing to do about it. May work for noobs of the genre and even for some of the more experienced people but I doubt people are going to return to the game when they've finished it once. I might actually say that often one of the best marks of a great RTS is its excellent replayability.
And not to go completely off-topic, it's not fair to compared sales numbers from different weeks. I thought it was pretty obvious... And 4k isn't much anyway.
I wouldn't speak of legs at this point though, unless it's clear they're terrible, which clearly isn't the case now. We ought to wait at least a couple of weeks before speaking of legs.
This shows nothing.
Can we please wait for at least 3 months post-launch before we start discussing legs?
@kowenicki
but back then it was the only good game on 360...or so I have been told many times
Right now PS3 has so many fantastic games to choose from....int he FPS genre especially

The fact it is an RTS on a console, and if it becomes the top name in this niche, then that will lend to it having legs. It is competently executed. Not really of much interest to me, as I have done enough PC RTS, but still there is room in this niche for it to show something.
