I meant to say that handheld sales may be cannibalizing console sales but I see thats not the case. Perhaps the problem is that JP is not getting any home console games that are tailored to them this generation. Even games that would be typically built for the Japanese like: Resident Evil, The last Remnant, etc are now made with the west in mind. Japanese devs are no more making JP games and no one else seems capable of taking their spot.
Therefore, if you were a JP gamer, there probably isn't much to play. Perhaps this is why the Japanese people are holding off on this generation of consoles. Either thats the case or the population is just really old now.
