english translation and dubbing - whenever i read translations or hear english voice acting: OH MY FUCKIN GOD WHAT WERE THEY THINKIN.

i'm playing currently phantasy star portable and mana khemia on psp and i just can't stand those dialogues. it's like they were made by Teletubies - i would prefer straight japanese translations and japanese voice action than those weird dialogues from 80' american cartoons that were always teach you somethin stupid at the end of each episode and annoying american voice actors.

Now that you mention it, it's true women are often confined to these roles. Except for Chrono Trigger where Ayla is the strongest fighter and she uses her fists!

Princesses, Sexually questionable Males, Turn Based Combat, and Anger issues. Everyone needs anger issues.

Let's see, cliches I hate...I'm tired of the main guy being orphan (that's one of the reasons why I really liked SO3, where your parents not only were alive, but were key to the story by being kidnapped in the first hour), minions of the main villian that realize they were doing wrong when you kill them, your village being burned/attacked in the first hour, and the obligatory "everyone say what are we fighting for!" before facing the main villain

I hate it when you spend so much mental energy and virtual items in the game to fight to survive only to find that you have to loose anyway.  If I had known it the first place, I would just let my party fall, save my virtual items, save effort, and save time.
