Phantom Hourglass was liked a lot more then the Wii/GC zelda, so follow up to hourglass and not to the twilight first makes sense to me.

but i am a little unsure of the train thing but i will wait till i see more till i make up my mind.

How do you reckon? Twilight Princess was more successful than Phantom Hourglass both critically and commercially.

I thought Phantom Hourglass was very good. And I see this as a sequel in term of gameplay. There's nothing to be disappointed about.

In other words, if you haven't played PH or didn't like it, then there's no hype for you.

im really not trying to troll here

When you're writing something and then suddenly thought of putting that line in your writing. It is most likely the case.

You wouldn't be "disappointed" if you had played Phantom Hourglass. That game looked and played amazing, and there's no reason to assume Spirit Tracks is going to look worse.
"The gameplay does not look at all intriguing to me and from the trailer it looks like im gonna got extremely bored of the same poor qaulity dungeon texture copy over and over again" - come on, this IS trolling. Gameplay was top notch in PH, there was a lot of variation and great level design. Now you see a few seconds of video footage and already know it's boring and textures are copied over and over. Sure.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

1. This is GDC, not E3 or TGS. Any new game announcement, let alone a Zelda one, is a bonus
2. Phantom Hourglass was a very good game, so a sequel is awesome
3. It looks great, don't know why you complain about it
4. If this was GDC with a lot of great announcements just imagine what E3 will be like, where Nintendo aready said they'd deliver this year
5. You really think there's no Wii Zelda in the making?

Sorry i have to disagree with you, I am very excited for this. Maybe Zelda is not your thing any more, have you played phantom hourglass? actually do you know that game exists? because this game looks like it (graphically) if not a little more better.

at OP: You should probably play Phantom Hourglass first, I doubt (aside from perhaps story and originality) that this new Zelda would be worst then that graphically etc, so play PH first and if you hate that, I don't think there's much hope for this game with you. By the way, Phantom Hourglass is easily one of the best looking 3D games on the platform and it's got good touch screen controls (not perfect though).

Also, I'm not sure you truly are a Zelda fan (kidding), because you should know that Zelda has NEVER been on the cutting edge graphically (not kidding), except perhaps ALttP on the old SNES at the time.

I honestly truely think that if this game had someone else other then Link and the title of Zelda in it's name it would be considered shovelware garbage.

this is so true with a lot of games.  Especially with this one.

No it's not! People KNOW any Zelda game is going to be a 30-60 hours epic with perfectly balanced gameplay, and that's nothing anyone would consider "shovelware garbage". Even if it's not your cup if tea, which it is obviously not (looking at your profile... no more questions). If a series / brand delivers critically acclaimed games for 23 years, it well deserves some early praise.

No I have to disagree with you too :/

Pre-GDC I was thinking any new game announcement would be pretty good, but really wasn't expecting anything. So to see a new Zelda was really surprising. We already know there's a Wii title in development and we had no idea about Spirit Tracks so it's like gaining an extra Zelda title as far as I'm concerned. On top of that Phantom Hourglass was a really good game so where's the issue?
