Forums - Nintendo - Conspicuously absent: Wii Sports Resort

So there goes the keynote, bringing many awesome things (just downloaded Sin & Punishment to inaugurate the new SD Card system. Works quite well), but we missed Wii Sports Resort. Not a single mention of the title

So what are we looking at now? You think Nintendo will say anything more before the end of GDC? Holiday 09 game confirmed? Where are we at here?

The other question, i suppose, is whether or not Nintendo is having a Spring Media Summit this year, like they had last year (around April 5th, i think)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Did they even mention Motion+ at all?

How strange...

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

The presentation seemed to focus more on downloadable titles than anything else, Zelda for DS excepted. Wii games weren't really the point of this. We'll likely get a more targeted conference in a few months.

I'm starting to think it will be announced at E3 and released in Sept/Oct to help people through the end-of-summer blues. Should lead nicely to another record breaking holiday season.

Or it will be released in Dec/Jan in Australia and June '10 everywhere else.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Could be reannounced and launched at/after E3 or at a Nintendo Spring conference.

However hearing that in Europe at any rate WM+ will be bundled with Grand Slam Tennis does make you wonder if WSR hasn't been delayed. But as long as I can WM+ for Tiger Woods '10 in June I'm happy.

I always had a feeling that 2009 was gonna be an empty year when it comes to first party Wii games. Said it lots of time last year.
Now it's more than probable that Nintendo, due to not having games ready to release this year was going to delay Wii Sports Resort until Holidays. I dont think they have anything big besides that, so going to the holidays without a new game would be suicide. I'm pissed, Nintendo hasnt announced anything major for the Wii since E3 2007 (SSBB, Wii Fit)

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

I wasn't playing attention to stuff like this last year...Was there one last year, and what did they announce? =p

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

There is no deadly spiral present in Nintendo right now, so no hurries with the games. They didn't confirm the DSi VC rumours that have been going around lately either, and it would have been a perfect place to do so.

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

It's very odd. Maybe they are just waiting for the DSi to launch and then switch focus?

I think there focus was on the VC/Wiiware and was more catered toward the developer than the gamer. The major problem that the VC/Wiiware has had from a developer's standpoint is a lack of storage space.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
