On a worldwide scale, I don't think it can, unless the attach rate of Halo is significantly greater than its predecessors. If you're talking about US sales only ... well ...

There's a much lower upper limit for Halo 3 than there is for PS 3. However, I'm sure everything released past, present, and most things future, will wish they could sell as fast. I'll go with Never, but it'll be close.

Well gears is already ahead of PS3 world wide right now. As far as Halo 3 it will pass it in the US on September 25th. As far as world wide probably before Christmas if it hasn't already done it before the end of October.

Your right, it would almost have to be 50% attachment rate, which would be very very high for a game beating halo 2 and halo 1
so pretty much if half the 360 owners went out and got it, then yes
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

The PS3 is at 1.91 million and selling 40k a week in America. So that's around 300k more by Halo 3 week, putting the PS3 at 1.94 million.
Halo 3 comes out September 25th. I'll say September 26th (morning).
