Forums - Sales - Microsoft: FFXIII will sell more on 360

IF they mean worldwide then - lol

If they mean NA only or NA and Europe then - duh

I think this will be the case, when the final tally is in!

If NPD's figures is anything to go by, Star Ocean 4, a game also by Square Enix, performed miserably on the 360, failing to hit the top 20 its first full week on the market.

Does no one understand the difference between developers and publishers anymore?  Star Ocean 4 is a game by Tri Ace, SE only published it.  Also it was developed using the same engine they used for Infinite Undiscovery which was a game partially funded by Microsoft.

those tiny details to the side... whats your point?

Aside from the fact he also called out SE for making a poor decision on only releasing SO4 on the 360, which again was a decision by Tri Ace, not SE, he's implying that SE has not had a successful track record on the 360 by using the sales of SO4 as an example.

So far the only internally developed SE game out on the 360 is The Last Remnant and it has sold a little under 600k copies which is not that bad.

se shipments show tlr was overtracked for the holiday period. i doubt its legs held up afterwards at all if launch and holiday sales were medioc

We're on the VGC forums, I'll go with their numbers.  If Brett thought there should have been an adjustment he would have made one.  Why do you even frequent these forums if you doubt their numbers?

lol. brett knows more than company reports now. rei - didnt know that last time i checked was couple weeks ago but 30k imo is not enough adjustment. if it were overtracked during the holidays id assume it would be after them too.

He is obviously (?) talking about NA where all that can be said is "no shit!" Even then I would not bo too sure as PS3 games such as RE5 have sold fairly close to the 360 versions.

If the guy is taking WW then that comment is plain old silly. FFXIII can release on the 360 day and date with the PS3 version in Japan but PS3 sales will murder 360 sales. EU should be in favour of PS3 as well so that leaves NA where at best I see a 40:60 split in favour of the 360.

The comment coming after SO4 failed to reach even the 360 top ten in NA makes it very very funny though, could very well be that the comment is hinted more at SE then anyone else.

Tell you what though, HD JRPG exclusives are a thing of a past looking at sales for the games, Versus will follow very shortly. :O

no, but I am a lot more wary of games that don't get a 9. There are a lot of good games between the 8 and 9 ratings, but there are a few crappy ones as well. SO4 didn't even get an 8 (just barely I know.) Depending which review you look at it even got a 7 from GI (which I personally believe is overgenerous a lot of the time.) All of this is personal opinion of course, just as reviews are. The only point I'm making is that the disc swapping issue was a negative when it came to the review scores. Stop being so argumentative.

You completely avoided my question.

Wanna bet on it?

Why not, I will be long gone from this site when the game releases in 2077. ;)

I say the game releases on the 360 6 months after the PS3 version, just to keep Sony sweet and to ensure people who purchased a PS3 for those two games do not feel screwed over.

That at best for Sony, more realistically the 360 version releases day and date with the PS3.

Even if he's talking about NA, that's still pushing it. By the time FFXIII releases, the gap between PS3 and 360 would be alot smaller.

Prediction:

TGS this year for PS3 will be amazing.

Grandia comes to PSN(PSone classic).

First Versus gameplay this year.

The Adventures Of Duane and Brando

Yeah, I get the feeling that we'll be waiting for a while on this one.

Anyway, it's a bet!
