If NPD's figures is anything to go by, Star Ocean 4, a game also by Square Enix, performed miserably on the 360, failing to hit the top 20 its first full week on the market.

It's possible considering its install base advantage the 360 version might outsell the PS3 version for North America. But it can also be a major driver for PS3 sales if the 360 version ends up being subpar and/or comes supplied on too many discs.

They feverishly attacked Killzone 2's two days sales for February 2009, but that all seems very premature as well. Killzone 2 for example outperformed Uncharted: Drake's Fortune's first week sales tenfold! And Uncharted turned into a million seller for the US/NA.

It will be interesting, I think FF XIII on the PS3 will easily outsell the 360 version for the rest of the world.

Japan and worldwide no. FF games sell around half their game sales in Japan region alone.

If we excluded Japan from the count then FF on X360 would outsell FFXIII on PS3. NA would make the sales numbers in favour of X360. In europe the game sales numbers would be narrowly in favour of PS3.FFXIII on X360 would outsell PS3 in non-Japan regions.

Anyway FFXIII release I believe will appear in Japan late 2010 at the earliest. Europe and NA release it will appear in 2011.

It's responding to NPD data, so most likely they are just talking about the NA territory.

Well if we look at Street Fighter 4 sales NPD the 360 version only outsold the PS3 version by what, 70k (talking about US numbers here only). Even though there are supposed to be 8 Million more 360s in the US.


The PS3 version of FF 13 will outsell the 360 version 2 to 1. Easy.

Thats not a very good game to do comparison's with as the ps3 controller is better designed for fighting games with their dpad when compared to the 360. However, even with that advantage the 360 still sold more. When looking at FFXIII I think most the consumer's that like RPG's actually own a 360 because it is the RPG console this gen. I would actually think that it would sell more on the 360 by about 3 to 1.

I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version will outsell the 360 version by 2:1 even in the US. The 360 audience is just not into JRPGs, period.
