I love the game--I absolutely cannot understand all the haters who claim to have really enjoyed RE4, as it's basically an intensified version of that. I haven't tried coop yet (that's coming later today), but I also am having few problems with Sheva's AI like most people. Just make sure you upgrade her guns as often as you do your own and she's a very competent partner.

What is funny, is people claiming RE was originally about zombies, it's strayed from it's roots is funny. RE was never about Zombies, it was about developing a biological weapon, to be used against people and to make people into a biological weapon. Sure at first this meant zombies, if you ever actually read the documents found, game per game you would notice. In zero it talks about the origin of the virus. In code veronica they mention an origin point of the leeches. Each RE is just building on top of that, if it changes genre it can't hurt it, because it never was a specific genre, when RE4 came out, it wasn't a new strain, but a whole new idea on bio-weapons, which of course was a plagus. In RE4 they even talk about finding the origin, which is linked to Africa.

Well,do you enjoy it? Like playing it? its ok

Do you use co-op? NO Was it a plus when you purchased the game? NO

Is the series moving forward with Resident Evil 5,or is it a step backward? backward, playing through the game with only chris would of been better and a better save system with out a auto save i hope 6 will be better since its going to be a completly new game

                                                                      Play Me

just played it last night for a few hours, i felt exactly like i was playing resident evil 4, everything moved the same and the i put the controls as the same. I can't really say it's a step forward for the series, i mean there is really only a few things that you can argue move the series forward at all. The weapon switch is cool, partner is kinda cool but the ai is horrible so i often wish she wasn't there.

i enjoyed it simply in the same way i enjoyed RE4 because it is basically RE4 all over again, but i certainly hoped for more.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Resident Evil 5 may be a good action game. However, Resident Evil fans would probably have the following problems with it.

Co-op makes the action for fun, but takes away from the survival horror aspect.
Game is too open, space wise, and spends to much time in daylight.
Game is not scary.
Game does not emphasize ammo conservation (compared to the original).

Resident Evil 4 was a interesting deviation from the original RE formula. Many fans seemed to like it, knowing that it wasn't a true RE game and wasn't as scary because of it. At this point, RE5 should just be called a different series.

This, hence the name BIOhazard, all we know RE6 could be Unreal engine 3 and be straight shooter.

Bought just a few hours ago. Sitting next to me here in my desk. Will start playing in a bit. :D

I'd be curious to see how this all played out if there was a Wii version released alongside the x360/ps3 versions. I see atleast some bitterness because this isn't on the Wii. I'm just speculating of course, but I'd bet that there'd be much less negativity surrounding this game if there was a Wii version.

Again, if you liked RE4, this game should be right up your alley. Considering how many people here played RE4 on gc/ps2 the control issue is kind of a moot point. I don't really get the bulk of the complaints that I read about this game.

I am loving it. The Co-op is absolutely amazing, it is action packed and intense. Haters are all up in arms because of the switch towards more action, less survival horror.

Honestly, after Dead Space (amazing game), Capcom would have been hard pressed to top that games atmosphere (IMO). So throwing in an abundance of awesomesauce action, puts a smile on my face regardless.

Games are entertainment, and this game delivers some of the best this gen.

Agreed. Capcom did a good job with RE5.
