Forums - Nintendo - Punch-Out!! to have multiplayer, why no online?

It's been confirmed via press release that Punch-Out!! will have a head to head 2 player mode.. So why doesn't it onclude online play? Devs being lazy or is 2 player online not worth the effort when split screen would be a much better experience?

Yeah, not much excuse for no online at this point.

On the other hand, we only just found out about multiplayer, so maybe Nintendo will let us in on some online plans two days before launch.

Why would they force multiplayer on this game. It is never been a game for multiplayer and never will be

Not every game should have online and this is one of them, hell I'm sureprised this has multiplayer for two people.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

No excuse for online? You know the entire game development to know this for a fact?

You don't so don't assume there is room for something without any proof.

 It's the "we."

I wouldn't mind trying some multiplayer. No one forces you to play it.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

Pretty excited for the multiplayer. It's not like it's going to detract from the single player experience, right? I'm really excited to try it out and see what it's like.

It's not about forcing us to play it. It's about insisting Nintendo is obligated to include it.

That's only valid if every single game but Punch Out had online. They don't, so try something just a little more specific than the damn year.
