I like this chart. It puts Japanese hardware sales into perspective. You can basically see every major software release, and in Wii's recent history, the lack thereof.

It looks like the consoles the best are going down. PSP, DS, and Wii especially while the ones that weren't doing too well are increasing PS3, 360.
