You should not buy a console based on announced games, but instead, released games.
Are you going to buy something and then put it away and wait for those announced games to be released?

So, yeah. Evaluate games that you wanted that are released or at least releasing in a month.

Final Fantasy Chrystal Bearers.

other than that, why by the wii if you already can play it?

Buy play it on wii: metroid prime and also buy metroid prime 3. These games are AMAZING. If you like Madworld then you'll also like no more heroes. Super mario galaxy is also an amazing game and will probably last you 20-40 hours of playing.
You also need super smash bros brawl... It's a game you want(must) to play when friends come over... Super smash bros brawl is also a very addictive game :) It has way too much replay value.

I think you missed the part where I said I wasn't interested in Nintendo games I will get No More Heroes at some point when I get a Wii, but Nintendo titles generally don't interest me.

I get a feeling from it like that, but since we don't know that much about it, and since we don't even know if it will make it outside of Japan, I can't get excited about it.

Oh, I'm very much aware. But the premise behind SH:SM shows that 3rd parties doing some of things I'm looking for in Wii games, which is why I am getting excited. I wont buy a Wii just yet though

Well, there is my problem with that title

And I do in fact not own a PS2 (I figured the games would be the rare part, and not the console, which is why I have PS2 games in my collection, but no PS2 (yet)), and even though I will get a PSP before I get a Wii, the Wii version still sound like the ultimate version

you dislike Final Fantasy games? , oh and i suggest you buy a Ps2 then, its really cheap and to be honest the gameplay in it's games are better than any other console (next gen or not) , its just simply the best console.

Edit : sorry corrected

Nah, I don't care for FF games, and I will get a PS2 at some point, but not right now. Once it gets really cheap, I'll get it.

I kind of want to want a Wii, because I really want to swing a lightsaber around.... but then again, I have already given into the dark side once with my Xbox, and I can't do it again

Rabbids Go Home sounds like a title I am talking about! http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=71493&page=1

- Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
- MadWorld
- Indiana Jones and The Staff of Kings
- Monster Hunter 3
- Rabbids Go Home

Now I just need 4 out of those 5 to release and prove their worth

I know you don't like Final Fantasy games but The Crystal Bearers is in no way a traditional Final Fantasy game. It doesn't have random battles, it's an Action RPG, and it looks really unique. I recommend just checking it out.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Well, the third parties lineup is pretty impressive for the rest of the year, that's for sure. But I do think that you cannot "Want to want" a console. If you don't like it, you'll end up watching it getting dust after some month. If I may, I'd like to seggest you a couple of second parties titles, like Punch-Out, Sin & Punishment 2, Fatal Frame IV, Another Code. They're all published by Nintendo, yet they are not developed by EAD, Intelligent, Retro or Monolith, so they feel different from your Zelda or from your Mario.
I wanted to want a Play 3, I bought it, but it wasn't the right choice to me, despite all the awesome titles it has. So, even if I think of the Wii as an amazing console, I suggest you not to buy it.
