Hmm.

This may trigger a bit of an exodus within Sony. Can't imagine the company justifying a big price drop either since that revenue loss would make avoiding job/wage cuts even harder in the future.

Where they going make an exodus TO, considering the economy?

Why all this talk about the economy?

The gaming industry is doing better than ever right now. There are many gaming companies hiring, profits are up, and business is booming.

Just not for traditional companies.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

now if only the banks would do the same damned thing....

Exactly.  And yet some just think they'll just 'bite the bullet' and lose a few billion more just for the fans.

Yeah, no.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Yeah, not sure about the exodus bit.  I argued the same point with my finance teacher today.  He said that if the AIG bonuses weren't paid out, the employees would leave the company.  Where are they gonna go, to another company that also got bailed out, lol.  But yeah, please argue ur point more, my teacher usually knows what he's talking about so he may be right.

its sad to see so many businesses (especialy small ones) close their doors or cut back excessivly. This recession is really beginning to hurt and not a single company will remain untouched for long

Long Live SHIO!

This is hard, but at least they still have a job...the problem is that it might be a bit harder on retention...sure...the Japanese have more loyalty to the corporation, but with Toyota cutting job, and Sony already cutting jobs...hmmmm....at one time...Pro Sports was filled with loyalty as well. Basically...if Sony is going to take a $200-300 million cut in profits to pay for the PS3 pricecut...it's gotta come from somewhere. Either that, or ALOT more somebodies are going to get the axe!
