The 1st game was and sold great but something tells me Uncharted 2 might not get the attention Uncharted: Drake's Fortune did. And there's barley anyone talking about Uncharted 2 and I really don't remember much hype around UDF but that's just me

Same went for Motor Storm and Resistance. Their sequels sold ok, but not as well as the originals.

This is because they were the only good games on the PS3 at the time.

I bought Uncharted to show off the power of the PS3 console. I wasn't disappointed. I'm buying Uncharted 2 (day ONE!), but it's graphics won't be the selling point that it once was. Hopefully, some of the flaws in the first game will be fixed and it will do well based on word of mouth like the first one.

R2 won't sell as much as R1 because Killzone 2 will kill its sales. Uncharted 2 will sell better than Uncharted 1 as it has a fanbase now and the userbase is larger

No, Unchated2 won't get the same attention because it's more of the same, like so many sequels are. And there's nothing rong with that. It's just that there won't be as much to talk about compared to Uncharted 1. It's natural.

It's the same thing with... Gears 2 for example. The hype n buzz wasn't even close to Gears 1, but sales were still be better.

Uncharted 2 is receiving extremely positive press, and was in the top 5 most anticipated games on the site. The user feedback from UDF is pretty much 100% positive, so the 2nd one will launch with much greater sales. You will notice that UDF did not sell that much week 1, because Sony barely advertised it (and gamestop started selling the week before), and I am sure they will do much better this time. Oh and there are strong rumours that there will be MP in the next game, which should boost sales

Most of the hype for Uncharted on this site was started by me (if you check all my previous avatars they have been Nate, UDF boxart or Munkeh), and the PS3 community will be hyping this game like crazy {you must have seen "uncharted baby" thrown around here}. The first one has an average of 90% (2sf) on Gamerankings, and the second one will do even better. Sony can definitely make a large franchise out of Uncharted, Nate is a great character with his half-tuck, and I can see him continuing to PS4, especially as this sort of story lends itself to one off adventures, which are much better for continuing a franchise as the story does not get old as quickly.

And it got a launch title boost, but I think R2 will only make 2m, maybe 2.5m at most

I thnk unchartd 2 cud go to 2.4-4 million sales coz it has abt the same hype as gow 3 n killzone 2..r2 dint hav a big hype n neither did motorstrm 2 bt i hear abt unchartd 2 in almost evry thread!!!!
