Let me just go and bang my head against the wall for 10 minutes
Uncharted 2 is receiving extremely positive press, and was in the top 5 most anticipated games on the site. The user feedback from UDF is pretty much 100% positive, so the 2nd one will launch with much greater sales. You will notice that UDF did not sell that much week 1, because Sony barely advertised it (and gamestop started selling the week before), and I am sure they will do much better this time. Oh and there are strong rumours that there will be MP in the next game, which should boost sales
Most of the hype for Uncharted on this site was started by me (if you check all my previous avatars they have been Nate, UDF boxart or Munkeh), and the PS3 community will be hyping this game like crazy {you must have seen "uncharted baby" thrown around here}. The first one has an average of 90% (2sf) on Gamerankings, and the second one will do even better. Sony can definitely make a large franchise out of Uncharted, Nate is a great character with his half-tuck, and I can see him continuing to PS4, especially as this sort of story lends itself to one off adventures, which are much better for continuing a franchise as the story does not get old as quickly.
