Hope you can beat the horrible SP quickly and sell it for a true sequel (KZ2).

It's amazing the total opposite nature of both games.

KZ2: Good sequel to horrible first game

R2: Horrible sequel to good first game

I own both.  I purchased R2 for $40, after owning KZ2.  I don't get the bashing regarding it.  I don't get your comment how it is horrible, in the context that the original Killzone was horrible.  Please let me know why you think Resistance 2 is horrible, whil the original Resistance was good.  Outside of changing the health and weapon systems to resemble what you see in Killzone 2, and just about every other FPS out there now, why do you think it is horrible?

On this note, I am curious if people might be holding the original Resistance in too high of a regard, if they thrash the sequel like this.

He genuinely may not like the style of Resistance 2. But I enjoyed it, and will definately be adding it to my collection. You at least have me on your side in saying the game is good. I'll admit KZ2 is the definitive shooter for PS3 but R2 is definately worth purchasing.

It is one thing not to like the style of a game.  It is another thing to call it "horrible", particularly "horrible" in the context of the original Killzone.

Nice collection of Halo. However, I own Halo 2 Limited edition, Legendary Halo 3 and Special Edition Halo Wars. Hehe. :)

good you bought it. Resistance 2 is a good game

Resistance 2 is a good game alright, but I wish they had kept weapon wheel and the health system in tact. It makes for a more fun game, in the case of what the Resistance series is trying to be, and it also helps it stand out a little more.
But I was really dissappointed in the boss fights. I loved their scale, they were fucking huge, but all them presented so little challenge, they were more of a spectable than an actual boss fight. The only one I was satisfied with was The Swarm, but it still felt like much more could have been done with it.

But R2 still stands out, in that it is about scale. There is a buttload of enemies, big and small, and it really provides a different feel than many other FPSs around today. Also, the coop is wicked cool!

*** spoilers for R2 ***

ok here goes

R2 was a good game not the best but good I had some issues with it but let's take it one by one

First off the campaign. The campaign was good in terms off action sequences and pacing better than the first one but in terms off story telling FOM was way better then R2. the main problem with the story that is if you wanna understand it you have to collect EVERY SINGLE PIECE OFF INTEL, which is dumb and tbh a bad choose in game design.
Bosses were big and the scale was huge but almost all of them were complete disappointment because they were ridiculously easy and relied heavily on scripted battles to defeat them, especially the Leviathan man the Chicago level was awesome but the boss fight was complete disappointment.

secondly the online and it's two parts ( competitive - Co-op)

first the competitive. I don't know why people like big numbers of players when the result is just complete chaos where a players skill level doesn't matter it's just luck because there is 30 off you against 30 off them there is absolutely no tactical gameplay it's just frag and shoot what ever is moving (and that's why I only play 16 player games in KZ2 I can't stand the nade fest in the 32 ones)
my other issue is also can be found in Gears 2 which is how many bullets does it take to down somebody. I don't know about you but a hate the fact that I have to empty my clip in someone to kill him (it's even worse in FOM). I like the COD/BF/KZ2 way where is 4-7 bullets to the torso can take a dude down.

Finlay the Coop which is the best aspect of R2 for me, because it's really coop and emphasize on team work like L4D not like those campaign coop where the second doesn't do s**t. I would highly recommend the game just for the Co-op alone if you like to play Co-op and actually do some team work.

Well I agree with DMJ about the single player. It is horrible thanks in part to broken AI and less than inspiring level design. There is no point to Hale having squad mates because the Chimera completely ignore and gun only for you. Hell they'll run after you even when they shouldn't know your position. Resistance 1 was more complete game IMO. Both the single player and multiplayer were top notch. The single player in R2 seems like a last minute addition in comparison.

Hrm... too much talk about R2 and not enough about Wario Land: Shake It!

Wario Land's a great game. Although it's on the short side, the hand drawn sprites are absolutely gorgeous and the gameplay is classic Wario platforming goodness. I hope you have fun with it. Cheers.
