Well, really there isn't no concrete rumor and just hoping right now but I hope Sony makes more JRPGs since that would be awesome. I never buy any of Sony's games and have no interest in any of them at all but if they started making JRPGs in-house that'd be real nice.


Edit: lol, when you make the Zelda thread you're gonna fall behind way too fast behind me. In fact, same goes for everyone.

oh, mah God!! i luv this game!!
 
i luv it soo much that i emailed sony about it a long time ago and suggested to hav it hav sequel on ps2...
i remember they emailed meeh sumtin' real vague about working on some old franchise ips as well as in the work for creating new ones.. or sum ishtz like that ~
 
still, i hope sony at least remake it for psp or sumtin' (since i hav yet to purchase a ps3)

I have this game and Chrono Cross and i was wondering which one i should get around to playing first. Any advice?

Basically what held it back for me and the rest of the critics is that the art style and overall game direction were both a bit too generic and derivative of Final Fantasy. IMO it just lacked the ambition and unique identity of a great RPG. (For reference, I think stuff like Suikoden 3 & 5, FF7, 9, 10, 12, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross were all great RPGs).

Don't let that stop you guys though, b/c despite what I've said, I really enjoyed the game. I can't imagine a JRPG fan who liked PS era Final Fantasies not enjoying this game.

And nah, I'm not interested in replaying this. My backlog is far too big to take on a huge JRPG I've already beat. If I were to replay a PS era JRPG, I would go with FFIX, just b/c that was the first JRPG I ever played. At the time I thought it was the most transcendent videogame I ever played. I wonder if I would still love it so much 10 years and so many RPGs later.

Tada! I honestly can say I didn't enjoy the first playthrough, like at all. But since so many people are taking it up, I'll give it another chance.

I guess you're right. I mean Sony has made games in nearly every genre.

Play LoD with us, then Chrono Cross afterwards!  :D

Bought it 2 years ago got to the 4th disc about to beat the game and my ps1 memory card died :( sad day including 200 hours worth of game time gone
