Probably not DS level's sales (350+k is noo much) but it as a good shot to sell over 300k for 1-2 weeks, then to keep selling over 200k for a long time...the greatest Wii userbase, the so called "casuals", are not so informed about news...in this way probably the first buyers will be people who were expecting this price cut, but then every week the news will be known by a lot of people, in order to have good legs...definititely in Japan there are also system sellers, while for Americas and Others we have just WF+ and NSMBW...maybe too little.

Wii is DOWN 3,338,939 units from 2008!  =(

Note: Wii is up YoY once again, although it was a small increase and we have to consider it was one of the lowest weeks for the Wii last year, one of the few below 300k. Next week we will finally see how well did the pricecut bode for the Wii. So far it has a long way to catch up.

2008 was the biggest sales year in history. Not even the PS2 did that.

Wii is DOWN 3,470,732 units from 2008!  =(

Note: Wii is once again down YoY, and this week, due to a big downwards adjustment, it lost another ~150K (100k by the adjustment and ~50k YoY). Things don't look any good for Nintendo anymore when we talk about reaching their projections, because even after a pricecut, sales in comparison to the same week last year are 50k down. Sales should probably go down again next week and make the gap increase to about 100k, which would be really worrying. The last chance Nintendo has to prevent the YoY slide is with NSMBWii, because not even WSR, Wii Fit+ and a price cut could do anything. But even then, Wii may end up a lot lower than what they told to their investors, perhaps they will lower the projections to a more reasonable number like 18-20 million Wii's instead of 26 million.

Nintendo's big mistake was the lack of software for almost 2 years now.

Wii is DOWN 3,488,060 units from 2008!  =(

Note: The Wii saw a small upwards adjustment this week, that's why the difference may seem little, but in reality the Wii has sold like 55k units less this week compared to last year's. It will be interesting to see if the Wii will be able to surpass its weekly performance during any week of the remaining ones. So far the YoY gap is still growing, instead of shrinking.

Going to be very interesting to see.
