Forums - Nintendo - Analysis: Aussie and NZ Nintendo fans are fed up, Nintendo

I just read an analysis of sorts from a member of Aussie-Nintendo named Aaron Davies, he touched on all the key issues relating to the absurd delays for PAL gamers in Australia and New Zealand (this also applies to, but is not focused on, the UK and other English speaking PAL nations)

Great read I thought, discuss

you haven't seen us complaining the delay it took them to get the games from Japan over here, have you? :)

Well we get delays that last
a) while you are waiting to get them from japan
b) while we are waiting to get them from you

You may not know that some games we wait just too long for.. Super Paper Mario, for example, we still haven't got, and we will get it more than 7 months after America

Well well, imaging what us PS3 owners might be feeling in UK/EU

Supporter of

 SONY & Nintendo

Consoles owned - SNES, N64, PS, GC, PS2, PSP, PS3

 I DO NOT support Xbox

My prediction for YEARS END:

WII - 18.3 Million

Xbox 360 - 15 Million

Playstation 3 - 8.5 Million

They have to make sure the video games don't call anyone a spazz or something.

I thought this was going on with all three console companies, why does he have to single out Nintendo? I am gonna waste an hour looking into this for some more useless game knowledge, which I obviously don't have enough of. :)

Resistence came out in Europe and Aussie land 5 months later than America and Japan.  Most other games like Lair and so on have a two month delay for them as well.  It seems like its the same deal all around.  Like it was just because these are new consoles and now that they have been out for awhile things have been picking up.

Yeah, why is one console company being singled out?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Yeah, it's pretty lame, but it happens for all videogames, Wii, PS3, 360, and PC...you either need to get used to it, mod your system, or leave.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

It's a lot easier to translate a title from one language to another versus one language into many of them. If you could convert Europe to one standard language like the euro, then maybe you'd get your games faster. :P

Another issue in bringing a title to Europe is the difference in television standards. Especially in the older generations, it was much more difficult to get games to run at the right refresh rate to match the PAL standards.

Finally, buy more games. The market in Europe takes more effort so the returns on the investment is not as great. If games sold better, companies would be more focused on the region.

(As a post script, I've noticed a few games show up in Europe BEFORE the U.S. Also give that some thought before spouting off your mouth.)

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

Super Paper Mario was delayed 5 months, not 7 months. This has been going on forever, and not just in video games. The same happens to movies, the same happens to books.
