It was actually Mario and Sonic 2.

I stand corrected. I just realized that Nintendo Power was the one that had Sonic Chronicles as their big super exclusive, which was a letdown to me at the time. I'm now partly excited.........hopefully this game will be more of a surprise than M&S2 (although, it was finally nice to get some details about it).
