I agree.  This was a $80 million mistake.  Well, I guess it should be right behind Shenmue, since it was rumored to be around $100 million (without inflation added in).

i feel bad for sega and shenmue...such a great game and company.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

E.T. (Atari) was also a pretty bad mistake. Everyone grab a shovel and lets head to New Mexico and dig them up!

I'm actually curious.. What made shenmue "that" expensive.

My guess is the constant start/scrap/restart cycle it apparently went through.

No PS3? I would be surprised if I wasn't so used to this kind of surprises. Then again, we haven't seen the final result so it's not that hard to understand.

Anyway, can't say much about those cases. The only one I know of is Shenmue, and even that's something I don't know very much about. They do sound pretty bad though.

The list is very inaccurate.

Shenmue was a huge game for the time of its release. I think it had by far the best graphics of any Dreamcast game at the point of its release, it was released on 4 CD's. I never played it but I still own a magazine with a Shenmue test in it and was quite interested in the game back in the Dreamcast days. The game was huge, there were dozens of person you could talk to, the game featured a "real-time" day and night system (one hour was roughly 5 minutes) etc.

I'm not sure if the costs were actually that high but it was surely huge for its time.

I was really expecting the PS3 to be on that list....but it wasnt! Yippee!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Was half expecting the 360 red ring, and ensuing 1billion warranty extension program to be on here
