Forums - Sales - Any news on madworld 1st day sales yet?

Mrstickball is talking BS again, like usual.

No More Heroes is a commercial succes. We've been through this a million times, Suda even threw a party to celebrate its succes. It's the best selling Suda title ever. It shipped over 500k ages ago, VGC isn't tracking the game anymore for a while.

As for MadWorld, if it really did 50k-70k first week in the US like Mrstickball said, it would be a big succes. Most Wii games that sold that amount went on to go platinum or close.

I'm pretty sure MadWorld will be a succes, though the question is if it will be just that -a succes, or will it really be huge million-selling game. I expect the former.

The thing that makes me smile is that the game only had yesterday to sell most places so that 70,000 sounds ok to me if only using one day of selling to make a prediction.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

Thanks for the vote of confidence. You know, you could of just as easily reminded me that the VGC numbers are invalid in the face of much higher shipping numbers. I would of retracted my statement. No reason to attack me.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Do you consider 400,000 units for a game that had a decent advertising budget to be good? I must be in a strange world where a decent sandbox game must cost nothing to make.

The retailer reports are from NeoGAF retail musings from store clerks. The number is my own, but given the 5-7 retailer reports, they seem to be saying above NMH.

Ah ancedotal sales.  I've found those to be pretty useless over time as they don't really yield anything other than a guess.  A very local and miniscule based guess.  Although I still think it was about 50k-100k first week no matter that.

As for 400,000, yes in sales but not shipments.  Aparently the game was close to 600,000 in shipments if I remember the number they gave.  That's their actual sales and apparently it was good enough.  I mean there is a sequel coming out.  Usually commercial failures don't have sequels.

Beyond Good and Evil?

We haven't even heard about that game for the longest time.

I'm just saying there are exceptions......

I thought it everybody knew by now NMH was a succes for the reasons I described. Apologies if you really didn't know yet. I might be more grumpy as usual because my computer is breaking down.

That's really low. With all the hype, 300,000 is definitely possible in NA alone.

Lol. Good luck doing 120 Worldwide, let alone 300 in NA.

45-70k first week NA.

Shd sell well.. by well i mean 50-100k debut and 1 million LTD..

2 reasons for this:-

unlikely to be liked by girl players(not trying to be sexist but girls tend to not like gory stuff)

unlikely to be bought by parents for their worthless wards

on a personal note i want this game to debut at 300k and sell 3 mil atleast :)

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

It's not gonna be a huge hit guys =/

Let's just hope Sega makes its money back and then earns a few so they keep bankrolling these kind of games.
