Have you even played the demo? Any company has the chance to reinvent themselves. Every individual has their element.
1. New IP
2. Pitiful Japan sales
3. Developer with a history of poor games
Not a chance.
@STAGE
I haven't, because i don't own a 360. What I'm trying to say is although the game is supposed to be awesome, the fact that its from FROM SOFTWARE will decrease sales a little.
I'm sure its good, but this will have a negative effect.(Same as Demon's Souls)

NG was a broken series ever since it went 3D (No offense). Itagaki was milking the name value of NG. The camera angles never ceased to aggrivate players (especially when it was to follow you), the storyline was aimless, the script was horrible, the voice acting was corny, and Itagaki made the bosses impossible to piss off gamers. There are many reasons Itagaki is infamous and his arrogance showed through the creation of the game. It was half-assed when it could've been 10 times better. The only two things NG did right post-2D era was having great graphics and a great moveset. Besides that the games were broken. No post 2D era NG game has sold beyond 1.5 million. I say Ninja Blade will do it. |
I really enjoyed NGS and NG2, myself. I found them difficult, but nowhere near impossible. I agree that the NG camera could have been better, but for the most part, they were excellent games.
Certainly they could be done better. But its hard to get behind the concept of FromSoftware being the devs to make a superior ninja game. Tenchu has never been very good, except in the early days, IMO. Even the Wii/PSP versions are kinda amateurish.
I have a lot of FromSoftware titles -- assorted Tenchus, Armored Cores, Enchanted Arms... they're okay, but they've never really leapt into the realm of game design greatness, or even gotten fairly close. If they manage to bring us a game better than NG2, then I will most certainly buy it -- I love action games, with slicing and chopping goodness... I buy them all (even the mediocre ones).. probably my favorite genre, alongside RPGs.
I think its pretty reasonable to have serious doubts, though. I'll probably buy it even if its medicore, but it'd be nice if I could sing its accolades to my pals, and want to replay it for its excellence.
I could beat the original arcade NG on one quarter, by the way, and did so on repeated occasions. I know my digital ninjitsu. ;)
The game is great. From the demo experience I'll like it more than NG2. The setting is very cool.
But I doubt it will reach 1 million. I'm nevertheless hoping for good sales.

I will let you know after the first review comes out....LOL Not enough info for me on the game
PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.
Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

I enjoyed the demo and I'd like to buy it but damn! Killzone 2, Resident Evil 5, Halo Wars, Street Fighter 4, Madworld, Onechanbara (I love this game, so shut up!), House of the Dead, and others hit at roughly the same time. It's like Christmas part 2. Combined with the other Holiday heavy hitters that people are still trying to pick up, and the girth of DLC/Add ons from Xbox Live (Lost & Damned, Lara's Shadow), and Ninja Blade is in the middle of a tough battle.
I doubt it. I did really enjoy the NB demo though.
