ToV has the shortest load times of any JRPG I've played on the 360, bar none. The very first battle of each time you play will be the longest, around 3-4 seconds. After that, every battle will be instantaneous. The screen will 'crack' and shatter revealing the battlefield, with absolutely no time other than the frames it takes for the screen to crack. Otherwise, all loading will take in between 1-3 seconds for any scene in the game. From what I hear, installing reduces loading to (litterally) 0 - like playing an SNES or DS RPG.

Yeah, I installed mine since it's become a habit of installing games minus a few (IE - Halo 3). The load times are non-existant while it's installed. It's not nessessary, I mostly install to make sure there's no sound emitting from the disc tray.
Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?
Thanks everyone.
I just started playing, just left the Castle after kicking Zagi's ass. Awesome game so far, I REALLY like it!
I also love how Estellise is a complete moron. Seriously, she says some dumb stuff.

This remind me that I still have to finish this game. BTW, I recommend installing the game to the harddrive:
Currently playing on PS3: God of War III
Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII
Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

Cartridge huh? I may have to check that out, even though it runs great off a disc so far.

Soon? How about "now"?
The game has been discontinued.
I made sure to snag games like Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles. Best part is that both of these (with what I have experienced so far with ToV) will wind up being 2 of my favorite JRPGs this gen.

Each battles takes roughly 4-6 seconds off the disk and about 1-3 seconds off the hard drive.
So yes, it's like playing off of a cartridge.
Thanks for the info Outlawauron.
Your sig is still white.
