You know, I may end up buying this when i's cheaper just for the new content. Still upset, though.

I was trying to suggest with my post that Darkside Chronicles may in fact be a surprisingly quality game. Like I said, I don't have solid facts to support this claim, just history. The history of the "survivor" series shows the games receiving constantly improved critical responses (by an average of 8.5%) per entry. While this trend can't continue forever, who knows, we may get a really worth while game. As I said, 80%+ may not be out of the question. That may not be RE:5, but it's pretty darn good.
I feel sometimes wii owners get a little too caught up in the earth bound mindset. Every week we get new virtual console games, sometimes great ones, but the response is always the same. Castlevania III? Weak, where's Earthbound? Life Force? Where's Earthbound!? Sometimes you have to step back and say "it may not be what I want most, but it's not half bad either."
no it's a capcom game for wii it's automatically terrible don't buy it let's all boycott capcom
*rolls eyes*
"Im disappointed more by the fact that the original REUC was going to play like RE4Wii, then was 'too difficult for Wii owners' (despite 1.6 million buying RE4)"
Why are you assuming those 1.6 million sales were gained at the time that gameplay decision was made?
Why are you forgetting that RE4 Wii had a trailer for UC, meaning that decision was before RE4 even came out?
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
the game hasn't even come out.... and UC proved to be a good solid game, so in my book, im looking forward to this
03/10/09 HUGE day in my life:
this is going to be my last post about Capcom and Darkside Chronicles for a while. I've come to the conclusion that trying to talk rationally about this is just banging your head against a wall.
RE 5 was announced for HD consoles long before the Revolution was even revealed, and there is no reason in hell why Capcom would have wanted to keep their RE franchise on a Nintendo console at the time, let alone when it was revealed that the Wii wouldn't have anywhere near the processing power to allow Capcom's most technologically dependent franchise compete in the tech department. But instead Capcom made a fantastic game with a high level of polish that played to the Wii's strengths while offering tons of RE fanservice and reinvigorated the Rail Shooter Genre.
And now that they're announcing the obvious follow up to that same successful and enjoyable game, people are screaming bloody murder about it. It's a good thing people don't actually listen to nerds on the internet, or Capcom would throw up their hands (or just the middle finger) and tell Wii owners to go to hell.
When people stop being so silly and we can safely talk about what is sure to be an awesome game, I'll return to the subject. But really guys, you're being pretty asinine.
EDIT - wait a sec... this thread is actually pretty good for that kind of thing. Maybe there's still hope.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Ya damn right!
That's an interesting observation and I have little doubt that this'll break the 80% going by comments from Capcom on trying to think outside the box on this one.
I can't wait for this game! Also this contributes to an idea I had about rail shooters becoming a mainstay and perhaps a powerhouse genre again.

Not bothering to read the thread, or even carefully read the thread title?
Way to set an example, stof.
