Forums - Gaming - Atus forecasts huge losses and we all cry

as long as they come back strong next year, i think they'll be fine.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

This is bad news.
Even worst news? It seems like they are pumping out more games left and right... for the DS. Granted I'm guessing the DS costs them little, even less if they are localizing it.

Microsoft should bail them out :D

Has anything of theirs even sold decent on the 360? Why would they want to go with Microsoft?

Anyways, this is really bad news. I sure do hope they pull out of this.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Replace the :D with /sarcasm. Please don't pwn me good sir.

Even as one of the biggest MS fanboys here I realize that most games would sell like crap. Though a second chance should be given considering Spectral Force, Operation Darkness and Zoids were all pretty bad or sub-par.

It's just that simple.

but persona 4 was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! why them? :(

its looks they still only sell well on PS2

Fixed, really.

Also lol at Gears of War > JRPGs. Hell no. Maybe Persona 1 on PSP will sell well too...

shin megami tensei series sold great for a small game on the original playstation too.

and looking at White knight chronicles sales i would say a persona 5 would be great in the ps3 too :)

but they lossing money lowers the chances of that even happening :(

LOL, I was just asking a question.

As for the games you mentioned, I just think the current 360 userbase doesn't care at all for SRPGs.

As for the topic once again. Atlus recently announced they would be making games for the Wii right?

Any idea which games or if they would be new IPs? I would prefer Persona and Disgaea to remain on the Playstation consoles in one way or another but I would rather Atlus do whatever is necessary to right the ship.

Sad news. I hope Atlus bounces back from this financial Tokyo Beat Down.

:(
no no nooooooooo
toyata has lost money for the first time since they started , can't see why atlus would survive

good news is that they just partnered with sting:

Atlus Partners with Sting
Two Japanese firms reach publishing agreement.
by John Tanaka

March 10, 2009 - Atlus and Sting announced in Japan today the start of a publishing partnership that will see Atlus serve as exclusive publisher of Sting-developed games.

Sting makes games like Yggdra Union, Riviera, and Dokapon. These were already released in America through Atlus, but the new agreement appears to be more formal, with Atlus handling publishing duties both in Japan and abroad.

In addition to the publishing deal, a statement from Atlus revealed that the company is looking into having Sting handle development of some games based off its properties.

As a result of this deal, Atlus said that it expects a 50% increase in software sales for the coming term.

Too many frequent games perhaps???

4 ≈ One

I haven't seen the evidence yet as far as announced games for PS3, Wii or 360.

Right now if you got to Atlus.com you can see 9 DS games, 2 PSP games, 1 PS2 game.

yeah, thats a LOT of DS games to come out lol.
