Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 360 In Europe...Where to from here?

wow,

so august 19 :
PS3 29000
Xbox360 24000

august 26 (?)
PS3 27000
Xbox360 32000

and u think it will continue like this ???
Remember we are just AFTER a price drop+Bioshock
and PS3, no price drop+no games

Xbox360 will continue to dominate during September because of Halo3+price cut effect

In October/November/December ==> Sony will dominate again

Paris, big shop "FNAC", this thursday, in the video game "side"
In the front :
2 PS3 in demonstration with Virtua fighter 5, about 5-6 guys around
In the second plan, :
1 Xbox360 with Gear of War : nobody around
+ 1 Wii "advertissement trailer" : nobody around

European people dont know "Xbox" name
For them, the next-gen begin with the PS3 and the Wii.

The "Xbox" is a "North America only" console.
Bioshock/Halo3 will boost the sales for sure but only during a short period.
Mass Effect will have No Effect even if it become the best WesternRPG released
(I doubt but wait&see)

Time to Work !

Around the Network

Note :
if Microsoft make a price cut (another one)
then yes, the price difference will help a lot the Xbox360, even in europe

Note2 :
if sony make a 100$ price cut (like in NA), then u can forget Xbox360 domination in Europe for the rest of the year (add early 2008 too)

Sony's $100 price cut did not manage to overturn the Xbox 360 lead in North America, so it would be a rough go of it to determine how that might effect other localities. I think Sony is doing better in Europe than in NA, so a price drop there might have more of an effect. However, Microsoft is still performing much better than Sony in the UK, which is Europe's largest market by a considerable margin. With the software lineup this fall, I don't see that changing, even with a price drop on Sony's part -- particularly since MS has gone ahead and dropped the price on their SKUs in the EU, even though Sony did not. As long as MS controls the UK, they'll be tough to topple in the EU as a whole.

Honestly, I don't see either Microsoft or Sony 'dominating' each other in Europe in this console generation -- so far, that claim can only be made by the Wii.

Actually Uk knows xbox quite well, really well, and halo will boost it rather well, and other games will also.

the Xbox is not a north america only console, thats a really strong statement, having sold 3 million in others, is rather a decent ammount, and it does really well in UK

In all i say even rest of year, if that...... well xbox leading sep and early oct of course, then even

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
