Forums - Nintendo - Famitsu: The next Resident Evil Wii is.....

Well no one knows anything right? What exactly does Famitsu say?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I'm a big light-gun guy, but I don't know how many more I can take. I will try Dead Space, but after that I think I might need a break.

We'll find out more about this until Thursday. I liked Umbrella Chronicles, but I don't need another one--RE4 proved that the Wii can greatly enhance a third-person shooter.

Ah, but Ghost Squad+HotD+UC prove that light-gun games can sell.

RE4:Wii edition has sold 400k more than Umbrella Chronicles despite being the fourth iteration of the same game in as many years.

But Capcom+EA know that that's not what Wii owners want.

So shhhhhh. Shhhhh. Shhhh.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

It will be alright.

Missed my sarcasm eh?

We all know that doesn't count for reasons that have never been explained.

Since the first Chonicles came out, it was pretty apparent that we'd be getting another game. I mean they left out two, Veronica, four and five.

Remember that Veronica Remake talk? well Veronica story will be in this one. And so will four and five. That's right, I'm saying it here and I'm saying it without proof, but the Darkside Chronicles team worked along side the RE5 creative team to put RE5 storyline in the game. Infact, I'm guessing one level will have the driving/shooting part in RE5. And there'll be RE 2 in it just because it gives us straight up killing zombies in the city gameplay. Which is what made the RE 3 parts the best levels in Umbrella Chronicles (the subway station kicked ass).

And for people saying this has anything to do with being cheap or lazy... Did you guys play Umbrella Chronicles? An 8 or 9 hour railshooter with plenty of CGI, voice acting, branching paths, high replay value and a crap load of collectibles and story files probably took more effort and money than a lot of other high quality Wii games have gotten.

This really seems like a good thing to me. It also means that Capcom is increasing it's Wii RE support, which probably means more games in the future.

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Just finished listening to IGN NVC.

Confirmed it UC 2. They said dont get too excited. Dont overhype yourself. Some people will be glad. Its not what you expect. They dismissed the Veronica REmake.
Matt also said Bozon would like it. Bozon like Rail shooters. UC was a rail shooter.

Simply - REUC2.

Hey, here's a thought. There's a chance they might decide to up the ante and make the game an on rails third person shooter. Not in the Sin and Punishment; you move your guy around the screen way, but with the RE 4 shooting view, with you following your character around just over the shoulder. It would sure provide some scary moments when characters jump out and actually grab your on screen character.

Oh sure it's a long shot. But we know nothing and this is only the second game in a series that started out as an experiment. There really is a lot that could change this time around.

And a question: Did Veronica have leeches? The worst part of UC was the leeches. It was a bad way to start the game out as it gave the impression that it was all you'd be doing. The less leeches in this game the better.

I'm skeptical that RE4/5 will be included. Before RE4, you could cover an entire RE game within two-three hours: RE4, by contrast, takes, what, triple that? There's a lot more to cover in those, and it'll be very, VERY hard to condense the whole game into three or four chapters.

Any attempt to do so would butcher those games worse than UC butchered RE3's story.

And of course, all of this assumes that this IS basically UC2.

More of HUNK's story, please. All these games, and he's still a complete enigma.

1.26 million in sales for RE:UC. Can't say I'm surprised with a sequel announcement.

I'm fairly sure this site has the game overtracked: last we heard, Capcom had shipped 1.05 million copies of the game. I'm skeptical that they've shipped+sold an additional 200k copies since January, over a year since the game's release.
