Remember that Veronica Remake talk? well Veronica story will be in this one. And so will four and five. That's right, I'm saying it here and I'm saying it without proof, but the Darkside Chronicles team worked along side the RE5 creative team to put RE5 storyline in the game. Infact, I'm guessing one level will have the driving/shooting part in RE5. And there'll be RE 2 in it just because it gives us straight up killing zombies in the city gameplay. Which is what made the RE 3 parts the best levels in Umbrella Chronicles (the subway station kicked ass). And for people saying this has anything to do with being cheap or lazy... Did you guys play Umbrella Chronicles? An 8 or 9 hour railshooter with plenty of CGI, voice acting, branching paths, high replay value and a crap load of collectibles and story files probably took more effort and money than a lot of other high quality Wii games have gotten. This really seems like a good thing to me. It also means that Capcom is increasing it's Wii RE support, which probably means more games in the future. |
I'm skeptical that RE4/5 will be included. Before RE4, you could cover an entire RE game within two-three hours: RE4, by contrast, takes, what, triple that? There's a lot more to cover in those, and it'll be very, VERY hard to condense the whole game into three or four chapters.
Any attempt to do so would butcher those games worse than UC butchered RE3's story.
And of course, all of this assumes that this IS basically UC2.
More of HUNK's story, please. All these games, and he's still a complete enigma.

I'm fairly sure this site has the game overtracked: last we heard, Capcom had shipped 1.05 million copies of the game. I'm skeptical that they've shipped+sold an additional 200k copies since January, over a year since the game's release.
