Your "clarification" is really wrong.

There were 20,000 people polled.  Approximately 5,000 (25%) of them played games online.  Of those ~5,000 people, 87% gamed online using the PC.  50% of those 5,000 gamed online using the 360.  29% of those gamed online using the Wii, and 20% of those 5,000 people used the PS3 online.

For example, if I were polled I would have answered PC, Xbox 360, Wii.  Many people use multiple systems.  The fewest people used the PS3 and nearly 50% of the online gamers used the 360.

PC - 87%

Consoles - 25%
Xbox 360 - 12.5% (half of the 25%)
Wii - 7.25%
PS3 - 5%

Hard to believe that the Wii beats the ps3 in online gaming. I can only think of three wii titles that even use online services o.o

not that hard. the poll is flawed. they asked 20,000 gamers. it would be a lot easier for wii owners to get in the poll since there are almost 50 million of them. then out of that 20,000 only 5,000 played online. the way the poll should have worked is ask 5,000 360, ps3, and wii owners

This isn't accurate cause it doesn't have all 47m Wii owners or 29m Xbox 360 owners or 20m Playstation 3 owners

Edit, misread it.  Still there is no reason to think the sample wouldn't be representative.  5,000 is a big survey number.
