Is Red Steel a good game?

Don't set your expectations too high and it's solid.

The Red Steel hatred in this thread is bad. Red Steel is much, much better than CoD 3 or any of the other early Wii FPS. This is an excellent deal.

Wow thats a pretty nice deal, it could improve NMH sales just a bit i hope, both of those titles are really fun, especially for those that bought the console recently and havent been able to play those.

I really enjoyed Red Steel (what what ive played) its not great thou.

Ima cop this.

@ BTFeather - Red Steel is a good game, but not a perfect one.

The swordplay is dissapointing, It's nothing even approaching 1:1, which was a dissapointment when I bought it, the game also is split up into gunfights and swordfights, rather than simply having the sword as an extra weapon you can switch to.

The plot is interesting, sound and graphics are not technically brilliant, but both set the mood of the game very well - if you like a game with good art direction then Red Steel doesn't dissapoint.

The multiplayer is excellent, especially if you get 4 plaers, because then there's this awesome mode where you each get instructions from the speaker in the Wiimote - first to complete theirs wins the round. I would say it is worth purchasing at $30 for the two games

Scottie got it totally right. I enjoyed the campaign , but didn't like the sword fights too much. Overall a solid game.

The multiplayer-4player-splitscreen set up is great though! Even players not used to wii controls anticipate them fast and you'll have a blast with friends. Reminded me a little bit of good old Golden Eye days on the N64

The game is very well worth the 15 bucks share imo.

What a great way to get their games into new Wii owner's hands -- especially since both those games have sequels coming out this year. Anything that grows the fan base of either game for them is win-win.

And as for cheaper wii games, this is way better than the tons of copies of ninjabread man and other garbage that litters game store discount bins.

That was my first thought as well. Money in their pocket and franchises in living rooms. Everybody wins on this one.

Also, It might be indicative of the "hardcore" software shift we're seeing this year. Ubisoft might think there's a fresh wave of buyers who might be in to their games again.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
