I had never heard of the original Ice climber so no idea.

First off, it designates the game as multiplatform, though that can't possibly be unless its a Wii/DS game, and Nintendo themselves don't seem to go in for that sort of thing.

I would think if they were reworking Ice Climber, they would play off the name more directly. I could see this as being a game about Rock Climbing in general, but if the OFLC is rating it, that means its coming out of Japan (though the graces of NoA have yet to be determined)

That would be cool, but I don't think it is a sequel to Ice Climber.
