Well most of them are very true and are still applicable today.
two reasons: price and loss of exclusives. but i wouldnt consider it failing though.
My thoughts:
10: Plausible
seven SKUs is a lot, but they've never been selling more than three at once, which is how many the 360 has had since March, 2007. imho, the PS2 compatibility difference is a much bigger issue.
9. No
Very few people cared about it enough to affect their purchase, and no one cares anymore. If you can even FIND a sixaxis in a store anymore, I'll give you $1200 for it. (wait...)
8. Doubtful
This no question had a tremendous impact when the PS3 launched and soon after. However, it is very debatable whether their continued (though greatly reduced) denial of reality is affecting sales because most other companies are at similar levels of denial imho.
7. Doubtful
While a lot of devs have complained about the PS3, a lot of praised it as well. imo the install bases have a far larger impact on dev decisions than ease of programming.
6. Yes
Definitely. Sony really shot themselves here.
5. No
Just no. Get out of 2007 morons.
4. No
See above.
3. Doubtful
Although the way it was put in the article is wrong, there is some truth to the fact that the PS3 has hurt some from a lack of any Halo/Wii Sports-style megahits.
2. Yes
This is it, ladies and gentlemen. If there's any single reason the PS3 is selling the way it is now, this is why.
1. Plausible
This definitely has had an impact on PS3 sales even today, though the affects have diminished quite a bit.
Now again, this is my opinion. I don't really care what this guys says because he obviously has no idea what he's talking about and all this has been hashed over incessantly for going on three years now and it doesn't really matter anymore. I just wrote that up because I'm bored out of my mind right now...
Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Not sure what issue the Author of this thread has with the PS3 game library but it's time he leaves his cave and actually check what game were released the last 2 years...
And about 7) there is no way in hell the PS3 is harder to develop for than the PS2...
At least you do not need to be a god of assembly programming to code on the PS3....
i think that the biggest issue is still sony's arrogance. the loss of exclusive titles though has been beneficial to me since i own a 360
nice articel. i approve 100%. lol at the sony fans commenting on that webpage.
