Are we going to pretend that Wii Sports doesn't exist and that a nunchuck is necessary to play any of the games except the worst one?

Are you are telling me that people buy the Wii for Wii Sports then?  Super Mario Galaxy would be more along the lines of Super Mario Bros.  I'm not saying that Wii Sports isn't a good game, but it's not an epic Mario game.  The Nunchuck is needed to play almost every single game on the system and you know that.  So.  Have you waited for eight hours straight for me to post here?  I'm out of here now so you can argue with yourself for eight more hours if you want.

Yes this is actually the general operative theory yes. Yes it is. People play the living shit out of Wii Sports. There's a topic roundabouts with playtime statistics and it always ranks super high. It ranks much higher in terms of average hours spent playing per person than Galaxy does.

I believe that back in the N64 days gaming was more expensive. I remember picking up smash bros for 120 guilders... or 54 euro.

Most wii games now cost 50 euro.

What's with some of these reviews though?

GamePro (90/100) points out that MadWorld is on "a kiddie console."

1Up (91/100) says that the Wii's "design constraints" forced Platinum Games to be creative, and that it paid off.

GamePro is just being idiots who can't get that snobcore wang out of their mouth long enough to type (even though they're giving the game a 90/100), but what's with what 1Up comment? Are they saying that the Wii is forcing people to be creative? Is this the first time one of these major reviewers has said something this smart? I agree and think that's awesome, but at the same time, a game could have been made with an art style this unique on any system capable of 3-D.

@Khuutra, also, the consoles were way more expensive when you take inflation into account. At launch, the NES, SNES, N64, and GC were all $200, so after inflation, they were actually lowering their price with every new system. Until now, with the overpriced POS Wii.

The NES "Control Deck" package cost $200 for 1 NES, 2 controllers, and SMB. $200 in 1985 is $401 today according to Wikipedia. I've seen a list of console launch prices of every generation adjusted for inflation, but I can't find any good pricing info on games. Either way, even if they were $40 in the 80's, that's $80 today. And I know some games cost more than $40 in the 80's, so that would be close to $100 today.

Our games are cheaper and longer, so when people complain about a game being only 5 hours, we really should beat 'em up.

Yes. That's definitely much more offensive than having that avatar of yours.  You may have a point though.  $401 for a game system with two controllers and a game would be much more than a PS3 at it's release, now wouldn't it?  A Wii with 2 Wii Remotes, 2 Nunchucks, and say Super Mario Galaxy would be cheaper than that also, wouldn't it?  A new 360 with 2 controllers and Halo 3...  I know.  You want to beat me up now.  Right?

Funny, my Wii came with a nunchuk. So, I have no idea what is being argued about here. Did the US not get nunchuk inclusion or something?

Yes.

The US Wii comes with one remote and one nunchuck. If you buy one more of each, and Galaxy, it would be $250 + $40 + $20 +$50 = $360, cheaper than the NES "Control Deck" package in 1985, and cheaper than the PS3 today. The NES was insanely priced at launch. They lowered the price several times though, and the last one, the superior toploading one with the SNES-styled dogbone controller, was launched at $50 in 1993.

@amp, I bought my Wii for Wii Sports. I may have bought several other games, but Wii Sports is the one that gets played the most in my house. Anybody who comes over wants to drink and play it for 5 hours. Everybody gets madly addicted to bowling and/or tennis and/or golf, although I have had 1 friend each get madly addicted to boxing and baseball.

Well, a 7.5 from gamespot. 7 from Eurogamer is understandable (as somebody said they hate everyone), but i think it should've get atleast 8 from GS

Interesting. No Nunchuck in mine. Just looked at the box that it came in. I save this sort of stuff because I'm a pack rat. Maybe they started including a Nunchuck. Mine had a Wii, one remote , and Wii Sports. Also I meant to ask if you bought the Wii only for Wii Sports (I left a word out).

BTW, I can complain about game prices since I buy the games. If I downloaded them, than I'd have no room to talk. Saying that I deserve to be beaten up for saying this is not cool. I've never made a comment like this to anyone on this site.

On topic, I believe that for me to pay $50 for a game, that it should be longer than 5 hours. This is my opinion. Anyone that wants to buy it, and feels that Madworld is worth it should feel free. It sounds like it's a good game, but I'll wait until the price drops.

You should of called Nintendo. I got mine on launch day it had a Ninchuck. When that was stolen I got another Wii 9 months later and that had a nunchuck in it too. My freind just bought a Wii and I set it up for them and that had a Nunchuck in it too. SO if you didn't get one in the original Wii Box than Nintendo owes you one.
