Why use statistics about recorders of all things?

Not that I doubt Blu-Ray is increasing, but to use statistics about recorders makes me think the other metrics are less impressive.

Because if they give you statistics about players the first thing most people on this site would say ' but that includes PS3 !'.

PS : I would think that if Japanese prefer to record their shows in Blu Ray they would prefer to buy movies in that format too.

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

But why not statistics about Blu-Ray discs? I'm sure those exist, just haven't seen any lately.

Regarding the PS, I thought this was about any recorders including PC recorders for data.

^^I suppose HD porn on your 52 incher is the way forward in Japan.

Blu-ray movie prices are falling quickly. Still...

Is the process of manuafacturing a blu-ray disc so much more expensive than a dvd to justify the big difference in cost or are we being conned?

The difference in manufacturing costs is at best a couple bucks...

I think the real issue is both studios and retailers are at this time unwilling to give up their high margins.

Publishers actually give volume retailers huge discount on DVDs and those actually tack on more discounts and use DVD low price to attract customers in their shops ( can you believe the catalog price of most DVD is actually 30$, only a couple bucks lower than Blu Ray but DVD actually retail in Best Buy or Wall Mart for 15$ the week of their release...)

I blame the robust Japanese porn industry.

long stiff dark hair and frustrating censorship ! That's the style...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

hyruken showed me an article from a year and a half agot to prove the japanese werent interested in bluray.

i think that was more accurate

Don't know about Poland but Belgium... I got my reader a couple of month ago, went to the shop and found that the DVDs still occupy 90% of the movie section...

... not enought interesting movies to me yet... (I don't want to hear about those re-scanned sh*it from the past : Movies from 1995 in BR ?? Wtf ?).

Can someone else check?  Since Killzone 2 is supposed to be "DA BOMB!" in those two countries, it would be useful to know if this extends also Blu-Ray players.  After all, doesn't the world have its eyes on Poland and Belgium?  Oh yes, and  the Netherlands.  Sorry, I got Belguim and the Netherlands mixed up.  Belgium is said to have the toughest troops, while the folks of the Netherlands are a key market to watch!

Toughest troops in what ? Blu-Ray adoption ?

I know for sure that Bluray is up in the United States and United Kingdom as well. Somthing like 400% from the year before.
