Based on actual fact on games released by Sega this gen. Sega has released more games for HD consoles. Other than releasing shitty sonic games on all platforms, the only decent exclusive games on Wii by Sega are Madworld, House of the Dead:OK, and maybe the Conduit. By contrast on HD consoles, you have the core Sega franchises: Virtua Fighter, Yakusa, Valkyria Chronicles, Bayonetta. My point, Sega aren't doing that great on the Wii, stop putting them on a pedestal. I would argue they support HD consoles with more hardcore games than the wii, but people don't look at the facts

Well, I mean... if you really wanted to pit Nintendo support against both Sony and Microsoft and call it fair, then go for it. I just don't see the use of it... seeing as the OP never asked for some Wii vs. HD contest (and as far as I can tell, the 360 and PS3 are still seperate entities). The question was "Why does Sega support Nintendo?", and not "Why does Sega support Nintendo and not MicroSony 2000?" (Or if you were replying to someone who was using Wii vs. HD, then you're good to go I guess. I just never found the use of that comparison...)

As for the answer, it is seen in the amount of sales for the Sega published games (and since Wii vs. HD is such a popular topic for everyone around here, I thought I'd please the audience and compare total sales for the Sega games. Of course VGChartz is missing some data, but I thought that the sales are pretty nifty. ).

probably because with almost 50 million consoles its hard not to have atleast 500,00 copies sold. Its just like the PS2 theres so many consoles a small percent is bound to buy it and the more consoless there are the better the sales will be

Long Live SHIO!

I hope Wii will get a Virtua Fighter game from SEGA, Wii lacks a big deep fighting franchise (apart from Brawl )and i reckon this title could achieve better sales on the wii then on the HD twins that have plenty of those games like SF, tekken or SC.

Shenmue would also be cool.

And why? simply because this platform makes them money, and Wii owners do like sega games.

Graphics capacity and gameplay are one of the reasons the Wii is not appropriate for hardcore fighters.

And PS2 or DC were good enough??

Of Course they could develop a game that is graphically good looking (for the Wii standards ) and played well on NIntendo system, it wouldnt just look as good as PS3, i do not really see the problem.

Plus it could use few control systems, with GC, Classic Controller or Motion based one, just look how well Dragon Ball Tenkaichi Budokai 3Play on the Wii.

So Wii is as appropriate for hardcore fighters as PS360, if you think about it.

You have the weirdest logic. The Virtua Fighter series exclusive to Sega, so technically it was made to be on the DC or any Sega system PERIOD. My reasoning for why VF4 was exclusive to the PS2 was strictly because of sales. It wasn't on the Xbox either if I recall, so you can go questioning that one as well.

Dragon Ball Tenkaichi is not Virtua Fighter. DBZ Tenkaichi is not even gameplay wise in VF4's league.  Virtua Fighter is the most technical 3D fighter and the GC controller (no offense) was not at par as far as buttons were concerned to have a proper experience. They could've made it work, but VF4 is too technical.

The Wii is not an appropriate system for next gen fighters, because the graphics level is too low. The most awkward controller to play Soul Calibur II on last gen was the GC. The GC controller is the last choice. I loved the GC for adventure games because thats what the controller was made for.

I was watching Bonus Round on Gametrailers.com recently (Check the site now to see what i'm talking about).and they were talking to people involved as to why Nintendo gamers feel like they got screwed by Capcom for no getting RE5. The actor who was involved in the mo-cap process explained what he learned that the graphics of RE5 can only be accomplished on Xbox 360, PS3 or PC. If you want it, go buy another system. It's not the end of the world.

Well i personally had a Great Time with SC II on the GC and i still ocasionally play it on my Wii, i really cannot understand your point about Controllers when Street Fighter IV is released on a system with worst D-Pad ever but it still works fine because Capcom put effort into it, and made it work. Now VF designed from scratch on Nintendo system would take the best out of possible controllers, and i am sure it could be as technical on the Wii as it was on PS2 or is now on HD consoles.

I used DB game to prove that a hardcore fighting game can be done on the Wii, i know its nothing like VF but it is hardcore.

Point about graphics? Of course game wouldnt look as good as on HD systems ,but it still could be game with advanced graphics, relativily when Released on Wii VF could look great, but not so good compared to HD systems but you really cannot compare the graphics beteen the two, graphic capabilities arent an obstacle in this area like they werent in the past, VF was looking good on Saturn, DC , PS2, PS3 and it would look good on the Wii (remember its all relative) as well. I just cant get your reasoning man.

i would love to see a sequel or remake of Alexx Kid

Improvements are caused by people who complain

Sega pretty much supports all consoles equally with mutli and exclusive games. That seems to be their buisiness model and hopefully it's a successful one.

@lafiel

It's not a successful one, that's why they're cutting down on HD games this yr ;)
