I guess then what "Nintendon't" is the smarter way to go.

I don't think SEGA has done bad on the HD platforms - Iron Man / Viking of Asregard / Beijing 2008 / Condemned 2 all hit over a million on PS360, Unleashed will join them soon.
They support Nintendo because their type of games suit the console more. Better suited demographic, better suited style of game etc. I couldn't see them turning House of the Dead or Jet Set Radio into a HD epic :/.
They've got plenty of HD stuff in the works still, just it doesn't seem to get much hype. I guess SEGA just arn't capable enough to make stand-out games compared to the likes of Activsion / EA / Capcom.

Don't forget, 1-2m is about the break even point for a typical HD game that costs $20-40m (according to Edge Magazine) so none of those games were really profittable. In comparison Sonic and the Secret Rings sold 2m with a development cost of about 1/3 or less than Unleashed. So it was easily profitable after the first 500k

Nintendo didn't run Sega out of the gaming industry. Sega fucked up and Sony kicked their asses out the door. Sega respects Nintendo. Besides they need money. I wouldn't call Sonic games a success these days either. |
That depends on what you call success. Do the low metacritic scores take away from the success when your game sells 800k on the Wii after 33 1/2 months? The bank doesn't think so.
Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. " thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

It's selling based on the name. Sonic after the first dreamcast title was a trainwreck. Sonic still to this day struggles to have a decent open world game.
why not make games exclusive to the wii? It has just as many systems sold as 360 and ps3 combined. That means the wii has 4 times the potential customers as the ps3 and it would cost a lot less to make the game. What kind of stupid question is this?

Have you played all the open world games? I'm not trying to patronize, just asking an honest question.

Yes. As I said, I played the Dreamcast one. After that I would say that the reviews were well deserving.
I hope Wii will get a Virtua Fighter game from SEGA, Wii lacks a big deep fighting franchise (apart from Brawl )and i reckon this title could achieve better sales on the wii then on the HD twins that have plenty of those games like SF, tekken or SC.
Shenmue would also be cool.
And why? simply because this platform makes them money, and Wii owners do like sega games.
